The approach to textual linguistics dates back to the 1950s. Appearing at the same time as discourse analysis, this discipline rejects any relationship with the grammar of text. It is defined by J.-M. Adam as "a sub-domain of the field broader than the analysis of discursive practices.". He adds that this discipline accounts for "the textual relations which govern the arrangements of propositions within the system that constitutes the text unit" ... The role of textual linguistics is to define the main categories of relationship markers that make it possible to establish the connections between the statements, or within the statement itself, that is to say, define and classify the different inter and intraphrastic relationships within a textual structure. Apparue en même temps que l'analyse du discours, cette discipline rejette tout rapport avec la grammaire de texte. Elle est définie par J.-M. Adam comme «un sous domaine du champ plus vaste que l'analyse des pratiques discursives.». Il ajoute que cette discipline rend compte «des relations textuelles qui régissent les agencements de propositions au sein du système que constitue l'unité texte»... Le rôle de la linguistique textuelle est de définir les grandes catégories des marqueurs de relation qui permettent d'établir les connexions entre les énoncés, ou à l'intérieur même de l'énoncé, c'est-à-dire définir et classifier les différentes relations inter et intraphrastiques au sein d'une structure textuelle. |
