المستخلص: يهدف هذ البحث إلى دراسة حالة المراعي السهبية في الجزائر ومعرفة أهم الأسباب التي أدت إلى تدهورها، والبحث عن أساليب جديدة للحد من هذه الظاهرة، حيث أن تدهور المرعى السهبية أحدث خللا ايكولوجيا وأدى إلى عدم استقرار في البيئة السهبية، مما أثر على الظروف الاجتماعية والاقتصادية للمنطقة، ولهذا أصبح من الضروري الإسراع في تجديد المراعي السهبية، من خلال مجموعة من الاستراتيجيات التي تلائم الوسط السهبى.

The steppe pastures in Algeria suffer from the degradation of their lands, due to the weakness of their ecosystem, as they are known as semi-dry climate, high thermal range, low-level structural soil, very smooth and medium fertility. The region is also plagued by prolonged periods of drought affecting both natural and agricultural plants. The human factor is one of the factors contributing to the deterioration of the steppe lands, where the rapid increase in demographic growth and the stability of Bedouins and nomads has resulted in great pressure on the natural resources exploited by the inhabitants of the region in a random and irrational way. The excessive and illegal use of steppe areas, uncontrolled plowing and depletion of degraded pastures as well as the creeping of sand at the expense of producing lands, are all images of the deterioration of the steppe regions in Algeria. In this article, we will attempt to address the reasons for the deterioration of the steppe regions in Algeria and identify the most important measures taken to renew and revive them.
