المستخلص: There are repeated questions reaching Ibn Al-Faakhaani from some people regarding the gathering that is being done by some people in the Hijri month of Rabee' Al-Awwal which they call Mawlid (celebration of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad –peace and blessings upon him-), does it have an origin in Islam? Or it is an invented heresy and an innovation in the religion? Based on this, he wrote the treatise titled (Al-Mawrid) where he clarified the Islamic ruling on Al-Mawlid and that it has no substantial origin, neither in the Qur'aan nor in the Sunnah. Also its observance was not reported from any of the [earlier] scholars of the ummah, those who were guided with the paths of the [pious] predecessors. Rather, it is an innovation that was invented by the greedy people. Also, he mentioned some of the acts perpetrated during Mawlids which are innovations and condemned. The investigator verified the text of the book based on three manuscripts, also he wrote an introduction to the investigation, together with two chapters that include the biography of the author and then the study of the manuscript. The work was brought to an end with a conclusion where the investigator highlighted the most significant findings of the investigation of which one is that the original manuscript copy is the most complete and the most correct of all copies.

تكرر سؤال جماعة من المباركين ابن الفاكهاني عن الاجتماع الذي يعمله بعض الناس في شهر ربيع الأول، ويسمونه المولد، هل له أصل في الشرع؟ أو هو بدعة وحدث في الدين؟ فكتب رسالة (المورد)، بين فيها حكم المولد، وأن ليس له أصل في كتاب ولا سنة، ولا نقل عمله عن أحد من علماء الأمة، المتمسكين بآثار المتقدمين، بل هو بدعة، أحدثها البطالون. وذكر بعض ما بحدث في الموالد من البدع والمنكرات. قام المحقق بتحقيقه على ثلاث نسخ خطية، وقدم للتحقيق بمقدمه، وقسمين شملا ترجمة المؤلف، ودراسة المخطوط، وختمه بخاتمة أظهر فيها أهم نتائج التحقيق، ومنها: أن النسخة الأصل أكمل النسخ وأصحها.
