في ظل الحضارة المعاصرة والتقدم العلمي والتكنولوجي الذي يميز أنماط الحياة ووسائلها ومتطلباتها وبظهور شبكات التواصل الاجتماعي مثل: " hi5, Myspace, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Linkedin," وغيرها، والتي أصبحت من أهم ما يقصده الشباب على الشبكة العنكبوتية، منذ تأسيسها. وبنمو الاستخدام العالمي لمواقع التواصل الاجتماعي ومن أكثرها شيوعا "Facebook" وبخاصة في العالم العربي كما ورد بالعديد من الدراسات والتي أثبتت التأثير الإيجابي بالتعليم لشبكات التواصل الاجتماعي المبنية على نظام تفاعلي ذكي بين الطالب والمعلم في العديد من المجالات. وتؤثر إيجابيا على تحصيله التعليمي والجوانب الإدراكية والمهارية والثقافية .. وانطلاقا من ذلك، جاءت فكرة البحث في محاولة لاستحضار الجوانب الإيجابية لتلك الشبكات لربط التعليم الجامعي بمتطلبات الطلاب واتجاهاتهم الفكرية وتعميق فكرة وجوب التوجه المستمر في تطوير أساليب التعلم وتيسيرها. ومواجهة للأعداد الكبيرة بالقاعات الدراسية وبخاصة التطبيقية. ونقص أعداد أعضاء هيئة التدريس مع ضيق الوقت المخصص للمحاضرات التطبيقية مما يسبب عدم قدرة الطالب على الاستيعاب الكامل وكذا عدم قدرة القائم بالتدريس على تقويم تحصيل الطلاب، وقد توصلت النتائج الإحصائية للدراسة مدي فاعلية استخدام شبكة التواصل الاجتماعي "Facebook" على التحصيل المعرفي والمهارى لتصميم الأزياء لطالبات العينة التجريبية في مواجهة الأعداد الكبيرة بالقاعات وأثبتت وجوب الاتجاه نحو تعميق فكر التطور المعاصر بالتعليم الجامعي من خلال السماح للطلاب باستخدام الوسائل الإلكترونية الحديثة بطريقة تفاعلية وجذابة وتعزيز قدراتهم بتبادل الأفكار والخبرات مع الآخرين.
