The main objective of this research was to study housing quality standards and its effect on beauty taste among youth sample from Alexandria University. It was accidental sample and consisted of 300 students from Alexandria University, including medical studies, Sciences colleges and theoretical colleges from Alexandria University. Data were collected through personal interviews using a questionnaire. It included socio-economic and family data, general housing characteristics in addition to evaluation of housing characteristics quality (Site, surrounding environment, quality of the building construction, quality of interior design, furniture and physical environment). Beauty taste was measured using its level. The test included measurements for: beauty such as, moral beauty, social, psychological and educational beauty. Data were analyzed using SPSS program (ver 15) to calculate percentages, frequencies, mean I standard deviation, Alpha cronbagh, qui square simple correlation coefficient, multiregression R square and T test. Results indicated that: 74.7%, 66.3%, 46.7%, 56.7% and 60.7% of the sample live in middle housing, site, surrounding environment, building construction quality, interior design and furnishing quality and physical environment quality respectively. Total grades of these items refer to level of quality of housing characteristics. 67.3% of the sample was in the fair level. 58.3%, 43.3%, 40.6% and 39% of the sample have fair level with regard to: beauty taste such as, moral-social taste, psychological taste and educational taste respectively Total grades of previous items refer to evaluation of overall beauty taste. 41.7 % of the sample was in the fair level.
