المستخلص: البلاغة علم متشعب العلاقات مع العلوم الأخرى، فكثيراً ما نقرأ مقالات وكتباً عن العلاقة الوطيدة الراسخة بين البلاغة والقرآن الكريم، أو بين البلاغة والتفسير القرآني، أو بين البلاغة والحديث الشريف، أو بين البلاغة وعلمي النحو والصرف، وربما بنسب أقل من ذلك بكثير عن علاقة البلاغة بعلم العقيدة، أو علم الكلام، أو علم الأصول، أو علم الفقه، مع أنه مما لا شك فيه أن البلاغة تطبع آثارها العميقة في ذلك كله، فتفسير النص الديني، وتحليله ودلالته يتقاطع- قبل ذلك كله- تقاطعا ضروريا لزوميا مع مرحلة فهم النص، وهل استعمل النص تعبيراته على نحو الحقيقة أم المجاز؟، إلى سائر الدلالات الكامنة فيه والمخبوءة في ألفاظه وأساليبه، والتي تكون علوم اللغة- وعلى رأسها البلاغة- المحدد الأساس لمعناه ودلالته. ومع هذه العلاقات المتواشجة، وأهميتها في تحديد المعنى والدلالة، والتي بحث بعضها بوفرة واتساع وبعضها بندرة وشحوب، تبرز علاقة أخرى لعلنا لم نر بحثاً فيها، وهي: علاقة البلاغة بالرياضيات، فهل للبلاغة علاقة بالرياضيات؟ وللإجابة على هذا السؤال الحساس من المستحسن أن نقف عند أربعة أسئلة ممهدة له؛ ليكون سؤال العلاقة خامسها، ومن ثم نتدرج في سلم موضوعي تصاعدي حسب الآتي: ما المقصود بـــ(البلاغة)؟ وماذا نعني بــ (الرياضيات)؟ وما موضوع الرياضيات؟ وما فروع الرياضيات التي تندرج تحتها موضوعاته وقضاياه؟ ثم ما العلاقة الجامعة بين البلاغة والرياضيات؟ ومن المعلوم سلفاً أن الرياضيات تشمل ثلاثة فروع وحقول أساسية هي: الحساب: ويعني بالعدد. والهندسة: وتعني بخواص المقادير، كالأشكال من مربعات ومثلثات ودوائر ومستطيلات، وخطوط، وتواز، وتقاطع، وغير ذلك. والجبر: ويعني بالكسور والمعادلات ونسبة العلاقات بين الأعداد. ويمكننا أن نختصر العلاقة بين البلاغة والرياضيات بالقول: إنها علاقة تكاملية تبادلية، فكل منهما يكمل الآخر، ويستفيد منه، ويفيده وهذا ما سيهتم البحث بتوضيحه من خلال الوقوف على بعض نماذج من القرآن الكريم والسنة المطهرة.

Rhetoric is a branch of knowledge, which is intricately intertwined with other branches of knowledge. We occasionally read essays and books on the deep-rooted relationship between stylistics (rhetoric) and the holy Quran, the interpretation of the holy Quran, the prophetic traditions, syntax and morphology; and perhaps, in a lesser degree, between stylistics (rhetoric) and religion or theology, and its relationship with fundamentals of jurisprudence. Stylistics (rhetoric) undoubtedly has deep traces in all those branches of knowledge; for example, interpreting and analyzing a religious text inevitably intersects with the stage of understanding the text; as we raise the question: does the text have a literal or a figurative meaning?; and many more questions on the potential connotations latent in its expressions and style. The meaning is essentially determined by aid of linguistics but most importantly by stylistics (rhetoric). Among these closely intertwined relationships with their semantic significance in determining the meaning; some of which have been abundantly pursued, and some others scarcely discussed, a new relationship appears. This relationship, in which we have not yet seen a study, is that between stylistics (rhetoric) and mathematics. But is stylistics (rhetoric) related to mathematics? To answer this question it is favourable to raise four introductory questions so as to make this question the fifth one. Then we can gradually and objectively ascend in raising the questions as follows: What is meant by stylistics (rhetoric)? And what do we mean by mathematics? What is the subject of mathematics? What are the branches and the issues that belong to mathematics? And what is the relation linking stylistics (rhetoric) to mathematics? It is already known that mathematics involves main branches: arithmetic; which deals with numbers, geometry; which deals with shapes and sizes of figures, algebra; which deals with fractions and formulas. In a nutshell, we can describe the relationship between stylistics (rhetoric) and mathematics as an integrative and mutual relationship. Every one completes and benefits from the other. This study is interested in explaining this by studying examples from the holy Quran and the prophetic traditions.
