The mystical natural landscapes of Figuig’s region have always attracted Man’s attention, which explains the historical depth of the human remains and the profusion of Pre and Protohistoric sites spread along the major rivers and paleochannels. Traces of a humid geographic space still exist in three major oasis in the region and in basins like Guir, Wadi Al Hallouf and Zouzfana vallys which contain hundreds of archaeological surface sites and tumuli, testifying of extremely intense former Human palethnological activities. The traces of persistent moisture since the mid-Holocene have proved that the area has been always an ecological refuge. This paper is intended as an overview on rock art and lithic industry of Figuig’s area. The latter represents an exceptional potential for the region and will certainly serve as a means of socio-economic development. Les paysages naturels mytiques de Figuig ont toujours attiré l'attention de l'Homme, ce qui explique la profondeur historique des vestiges anthropiques et la profusion des sites pré et protohistoriques répartis le long des principaux cours d'eau. Les traces d’un espace géographique luxuriant existent toujours dans les trois grandes oasis de la région et dans des bassins comme celui du Guir, d’Oued El-Hallouf et de Zouzfana, qui renferment des centaines de concentrations archéologiques de surface, des gravures et peintures rupestres et des tumuli, témoignant d'une activité ancienne extrêmementintense. Les traces d’humidité persistant depuis le mi-holocène prouve bien que la zone était, pour longtemps, un refuge écologique. Ce papier se veut un aperçu sur la présence humaine ancienne dans la région de Figuig (Maroc oriental), basée sur Pindustrie lithique et Part rupestre. Ce dernier représente un potentiel exceptionnel pour la région et pourra certainement servir de moyen de développement socio-économique. |
