المستخلص: هدف البحث الى تحديد العناصر التشكيلية والقيم اللونية للزخارف الشعبية في التراث السعودي، والتعرف على أوجه الاتفاق والاختلاف بين الحرفي الشعبي والفنان المعاصر في تناول الوحدات الزخرفية الشعبية تشكيليا وفنيا، الى جانب بيان أثر مدارس الفن الحديث على الفنان السعودي المعاصر في تناول الزخارف الشعبية التراثية شكلا ولونا ودلالة. حيث اتبع البحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي وذلك بوصف مختارات من الزخارف الشعبية في التراث ووصف وتحليل الزخارف التراثية بأعمال الفنان المعاصر المتأثرة بمدارس الفن الحديث، تكونت أداة البحث من بطاقة الملاحظة، واستمارة وصف وتحليل الزخارف لدى الحرفي الشعبي والفنان المعاصر. خرجت الدراسة بنتائج أنه توجد علاقة إيجابية بين الحرفي الشعبي والفنان المعاصر في تناول الوحدة الزخرفية تشكيليا، حيث استخدم الفنان نفس العناصر والأسس التشكيلية للحرفي، وليس هناك تغير شكلي في الزخارف المستخدمة في التصوير السعودي المعاصر.

The aim of the research is to identify the plastic elements and the color values of the popular motifs in the Saudi heritage, and to identify the aspects of the agreement and the difference between the popular artisan and contemporary artist in the handling of the decorative units of the popular art and art, along with the statement of the impact of modern schools on the Saudi artist Contemporary cultural motifs in the form of folklore, color and significance. The research followed the descriptive analytical approach by describing a selection of folk motifs in the heritage and describing and analyzing the traditional motifs of the works of contemporary artist influenced by modern art schools, the search instrument of the observation card, and the form of description and analysis of decorations by the popular craftsman and contemporary artist. The study came out with the results that there is a positive relationship between the popular craftsman and the contemporary artist in dealing with the decorative unit, where the artist used the same elements and the visual foundations of the craftsmen, and there is no formality change in the decorations used in contemporary Saudi art.
