المستخلص: النوم: آية من آيات الله في خلقه، وصفة أساسية من صفات الإنسان، وضرورة من ضرورات حياته، فكل إنسان ينام، ويقضي جزءا كبيرا من حياته نائما، لا يشذ عن ذلك أحد، حتى الأنبياء والرسل، ولم لا، وهو سنة الله في خلقه، وآية من آياته سبحانه وتعالى. ويظل النوم لغزا محيرا، وتحديا باقيا أمام العقل البشري، وكما استمر البحث وأعمل الفكر زادت علامات التعجب والاستفهام، ويظل البحث في سر النوم وكنهه وما يلازمه من علامات جسدية وظواهر ورؤي بحثا وصفيا، لا يرقى إلى إظهار الحقيقة، إذ أن كل ذلك بحث في ما لا تدركه الحواس، ولا تحيط به الأفهام، ويكفينا أن نؤمن بأن النوم آية من آيات الخالق، وأن الروح آية من آيات الخالق، وسر من أسراره، وأمر من أموره عز وجل. ونظرا لأهمية ذلك جاء هذا البحث، ليكون لبنة تسهم في الموضوع وتوضح صورته، وذلك من خلال ستة مباحث. تناول المبحث الأول مفهوم النوم ومعناه اللغوي والاصطلاحي والألفاظ المرادفة له مع التفرقة بينها. وكان الحديث في المبحث الثاني عن قوله تعالى: " لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ " وتناول تفسير الآية الكريمة، مع توضيح الفرق بين السنة والنوم، والتأكيد على أن نفي السنة والنوم عن الله يتضمن إثبات العلم والقيومية، وإثبات استحالة اتصاف الله بالنوم. مع ذكر فوائد في رحاب تفسير الآية. وطاف البحث - في المبحث الثالث - حول النوم كظاهرة حيوية من خلال الحديث عن حقائق النوم، والعمليات التي تتم داخل جسم الإنسان أثناء النوم، والنظريات التي فسرت النوم وغير ذلك. أما المبحث الرابع فقد تناول قصة أصحاب الكهف، مع توضيح ما كان في نومهم والضرب على آذانهم من إعجاز علمي. وكان المبحث الخامس بعنوان النوم والموت، وفيه كان الحديث حول الفرق بين الموت والنوم من خلال قول الله تعالي (اللَّهُ يَتَوَفَّى الْأَنْفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا وَالَّتِي لَمْ تَمُتْ فِي مَنَامِهَا فَيُمْسِكُ الَّتِي قَضَى عَلَيْهَا الْمَوْتَ وَيُرْسِلُ الْأُخْرَى إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَآَيَاتٍ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ) (سورة الزمر: 42). ثم أشرنا إلى بعض الأحكام الشرعية المتعلقة بالنوم، كالمسؤولية والتكليف، وحكم النوم في المسجد، وآداب الاستئذان وغيرها.

Sleep is one of the miracles of Allah for His creatures and it is one of the characteristics of human beings and one of their life needs. Every human being goes to sleep spending a great deal of his lifetime sleeping. There is no exception of this rule even in the case of prophets and messengers of Allah. It is a nature of human beings and one of His miracles Subhanahu Wataala. Sleep will remain a puzzling mystery and an outstanding challenge for human mind. As long as search goes on and human brain ignited, question and exclamation marks increase. Research in the mystery and nature of sleep, its physical signs, phenomena and visions will remain mere descriptive research. It will not reach up to demonstrate facts, all this will enter the subconscious and will be difficult to absorb. It is enough for us just to believe that sleep is one of the miracles of the Creator the same as soul is a miracle, a secret and a private matter of Allah - Be Most Elevated. Owing to the importance of the topic, this research is planned to be a building stone contributing to this topic and to clarify its picture through six objects of research. The first object deals with the concept of sleep, its lexical, technical meaning and synonyms with different shades of meaning. The second object of research on interpreting the Holy verse: "Neither does He go into a nap nor sleep" " Ayat Al-Kursi" showing the difference between "Sena = Nap" and "Nowm = sleep with emphasis on the negation of nap and sleep off Allah which proves his awareness and keeping up of the worlds and proves the impossibility of ascribing sleep to Allah in addition to mentioning benefits within interpretation of the Ayah (Verse). In the third object 1 dealt with sleep as a vital phenomenon through writing about facts of sleep, operations which take place within human body during sleep and theories which explained sleep. The fourth object dealt with the story of the people of the cave, explaining what happened to them during their long miraculous sleep and the scientific miracle. The fifth object is titled "sleep and death". In Sura 39 Ayah 42 Allah Subhanahu Wa Taala says, "It is Allah who takes the souls (of human beings) at death and those that die not (He takes) during their sleep, those on whom has passed the decree of death, He keeps back (from returning to life), But the rest, He sends (to their bodies) for a term appointed. Verily in this are signs for those who reflect". Then I pointed out some sharia judgments related to sleep as responsibility and duty as well as the rule for sleeping in the mosque and permission etiquette and others.
