يقدم الباحث لبحثه بمقدمة يتم التعريف فيها بمفهوم أدب الطفل بشكل عام، ثم أدب الطفل في شمال إفريقيا والدول التي ساعدت في ظهور أدب الطفل بشكل واضح وأطر محددة في لإى القارة الأفريقية ومنها مصر، وليبيا، وتونس، والجزائر، والمغرب، وموريتانيا، وأدب الطفل في المغرب العربي على وجه الخصوص متمثلا في تونس والمغرب والجزائر، ثم يستعرض الباحث في المقدمة السمات العامة والشكلية لأدب الطفل في الجزائر كنموذج من دول الشمال الإفريقي. يشتمل البحث على ثلاثة فصول يدور الفصل الأول حول القصة ومكوناتها، وأشكالها في الجزائر وتحليل لبعض أنواع القصة في أدب الطفل الجزائري، منها قصة الحيوانات، القصص الاجتماعية، وقصص الخيال العلمي، والقصص الشعبية ومن خلال هذا الفصل يستنتج الباحث سمات مميزة لقصص الأطفال الجزائري ومدى إضافتها في مجال القصص للأطفال في الشمال الأفريقي، وما المؤثرات والتأثيرات التي أثرت وتأثرت بها، والإضافات التي أضافتها لأدب الطفل الأفريقي. يأتي الفصل الثاني ليناقش صحف الأطفال في الجزائر من خلال تعريفها وأشكالها، وأنواعها من جريدة ومجلات ودوريات وحوليات وأنواع الصحف الموجهة للأطفال في الجزائر وأشكالها مثل مجلة الشاطر، ومجلة ألعاب الأطفال، ومجلة ألوان ومعارف، ومجلة سامى، ومجلة أقرأ، من خلال تحليل الباحث لأنواع المجلات والصحف الموجه للأطفال يحاول رصد أثر ذلك على القارة الأفريقية بشكل عام والمغرب العربي والشمال الأفريقي بوجه خاص.
