المستخلص: Mobile Internet access and needs were not always associated with being in mobile circumstances. In fact, it is often more convenient for people to use mobile Internet at home even though they may have easy access to a computer. Thus, smartphones are no longer a backup to PCs and laptops. Being mobile or on the move, along with other contextual factors, influences the types of information needs that users have and the way they go about fulfilling those needs. Using a four-week diary study, the current research was designed to identify users’ mobile information needs and behaviour. Users’ needs were classified into four main categories: Information Navigational, Information Transactional, Personal Information Management (PIM), and Awareness. The main findings of the research and the discussions surrounding it were summarized for further understanding of mobile Internet, which is fundamental in improving users’ experiences with mobile products and services.
