The Mediterranean countries are working towards the establishment of a Euro Mediterranean area of shared prosperity and the gradual introduction of free trade. Relations between Algeria and the European Union are governed by the Association Agreement, which defines bilateral relations in the political, economic, social, scientific and cultural fields between these two shores of the Mediterranean. The economic chapter remains a major obstacle to the establishment of fair cooperation between Algeria and the EU, particularly for agricultural products, which remain strategic products and as the most sensitive products to openness. The purpose of this study is therefore to summarise the place reserved for this agricultural component in the association agreements between Algeria and the European Union. Les pays méditerranéens travaillent pour la mise en place d’une zone Euroméditerranéenne de prospérité partagée et une instauration progressive du libre-échange. En ce qui concerne les relations entre l’Algérie et l’Union européenne elles sont régies par l’accord d’association qui définit les relations bilatérales dans les domaines politique, économique, social, scientifique et culturel entre ces deux rives de la méditerranée. Le volet économique demeure un grand obstacle pour la mise en place d’une coopération équitable entre l’Algérie et l’UE, notamment pour les produits issus de l’agriculture, qui demeurent des produits stratégiques et comme les produits les plus sensibles à l’ouverture. L'objectif de cette étude est donc de faire une synthèse sur la place réservée à ce volet agricole dans les accords d’associations entre l’Algérie et l’Union Européenne. |
