|a دخلت مصر بعد ثورة 25 يناير 2011 في صدام سياسي بين الأحزاب والنخب السياسية عبر منابر إعلامية متعددة، مفاده مطالبة البعض بوضع دستور لمصر قبل إجراء انتخابات تشمل المؤسسات السيادية في الدولة، والبعض الآخر كان يطالب بإجراء تعديلات دستورية لحين الانتهاء من إجراء الانتخابات الرئاسية والبرلمانية التي تتيح انتقال السلطة من المجلس الأعلى للقوات المسلحة إلى مؤسسات مدنية منتخبة. استمر الصدام السياسي حتى بعد صدور دستور 2012 الذي لم يكن نتيجة توافق وطني، والذي تم إيقاف العمل به بعد ثورة 30 يونيو 2013، وتشكيل لجنة الخمسين لتعديله.

|b After the 25th January 2011 Revolution, Egypt faced political conflict among political parties and elites; some were calling to set up a new constitution first, while others were calling for constitutional amendments till the completion of the presidential and parliamentary elections, which allows transferring the power from the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces to elected civilian foundations. In December 2012, the Constitution has been enacted after a wide debate on the formation of the Constituent Assembly; since it was not a result of national consensus, after 30th June revolution 2013, the constitution was suspended and the 50th Committee was formed to amend it.
