المستخلص: The study of the characteristics of aging is great importance as policy makers can identify the extent of the problems experienced by this category' of society, and then develop plans to provide care and services they need. 1-The population growth rate for the age group (60 years and above) increased to reach 3.4% per year between 2006 and 2017 census compared to 2.6% annually between 1996 and 2006 census due to the improvement in health level and services. 2-The percentage of aging in the age group (60-64 years) of males and females has risen compared to other age groups (38.8% of the total aging males, 38.3% of females) in 2006 versus (42.1% for males and 41.9% for females) in 2017, the age group (75 years and over) was the lowest for males and females for both years reaching 16.2% and 17.1% for males and females, respectively, and dropped to 14.2% and 15.3% in 2017. 3-Mortality rates for ageing have increased by age for each of the two years 2006 and 2017 ,the mortality rate has witnessed a stability in the age group (60-64 years) in the same two years 22.4%o, but in the age group (65-69 years), the mortality rate increased to 39.5%o in 2017 versus 36.8%o in 2006. 4-Illiteracy for ageing (60 years and over) dropped from 68.8% in 2006 to 64.0% in 2017, the percentage of female illiterate is higher than that of males in both years. 5-The contribution of ageing in age group (60-64 years) in the labor force out of the total number of ageing decreased from 26.3% in 2006 to 25.5% in 2017, the percentage of male contribution increased in this age group versus females. 6-The ratio of the total ageing (60 years and over) with the highest degree of difficulty to the absolute is 10.68%. The percentage of difficulties among older women is higher than that of men, both in terms of total and place of residence, their percentage in rural areas higher than urban. 7-The age group (60-64 years) represented the highest percentage of use technology for ageing (37.5%), then decline in the use of these methods with age in the age group (75 years and over). 8-The highest percentage of technology use for ageing was 41.7% for the Internet (41% for males, 43.4% for females) in age group (60-64 years), However, the percentage of female in the age group (65-69 years) has decreased versus to males (22.9% females , 29.4% males) in using of internet. 9-The total number of beneficiaries of social solidarity pension from ageing (60 years and over) is 1.7 million beneficiaries, the beneficiaries of the disability pension represent the highest percentage of 42.8% of the total beneficiaries, followed by beneficiaries of widows' pension by 18.3% Aging is less than 12.1%. Recommendations: 1-Make employment policies and programs that provide employment opportunities that enable ageing people to participate in meaningful work according to individual needs, to benefit from their experiences at the same time make them enjoy the same benefits of other age groups. 2-Preparation suitable environment for the ageing that help to prevent or aggravation of disability. 3-Take advantage of the strengths and abilities of ageing while helping them build self-efficacy.
