المستخلص: يسعى البحث إلى التعرف على أفاق التحول الديمقراطي في إقليم كردستان العراق وتحديد معوقاته، فضلا عن معرفة تطلعاته المستقبلية. لان الإقليم يشهد تحولات في بنائه السياسي والدستوري بصيغ وأشكال مختلفة تمثلت في صور متعددة كالقبول بمبدأ التداول السلمي للسلطة وإقرار الحقوق والحريات العامة ومشاركة المرأة في العمل السياسي والتعددية الحزبية وتوسع عمل منظمات المجتمع المدني، وقد استخدمنا في البحث المنهج الوصفي لتحليل الموضوع. وتتجلى أهمية هذا الموضوع باعتباره متغيرا أصيلا يعكس التفاعل المحوري للحياة السياسية والنظام السياسي الكردي الجديد وأثر هذا التفاعل على أداء النظام السياسي وعلى أفاق وإمكانيات تحقيق عملية التحول الديمقراطي لهذا النظام بمختلف مكوناته، على اعتبار أن هذا التحول هو من متطلبات النهوض بمهمات وأعباء عملية التحرر والبناء في إطار حل المسالة الكردية في ظل المتغيرات الموضوعية الجديدة في المنطقة. وتوصل البحث إلى عدة استنتاجات منها: 1- هناك إنجازات وتطورات مشجعة نحو مسالة التحول الديمقراطي في إقليم كردستان العراق بصورة عامة. 2- انطلقت موجة التحول الديمقراطي في إقليم كردستان العراق في أوائل التسعينات أبان استلام النخبة السياسية الكردية الحكم في الإقليم. 3- إن أسباب التحول الديمقراطي في إقليم كردستان العراق قد تكون نابعة من داخل المجتمع أو خارجه. 4- تتعرض عملية التحول الديمقراطي في إقليم كردستان العراق إلى صعوبات عديدة بسبب ظروف تتعلق بطبيعة المنطقة.

The research seeks to identify the prospects for democratic transformation in the Kurdistan region of Iraq and identify its obstacles, as well as knowing its future aspirations. Because the region is witnessing transformations in its political and constitutional construction in various forms and forms represented in multiple forms, such as acceptance of the principle of the peaceful transfer of power and the establishment of public rights and freedoms and the participation of women in political work Party pluralism and the expansion of the work of civil society organizations, and we have used in the research descriptive method to analyze the topic. The importance of this issue is evident as an inherent variable that reflects the pivotal interaction of the political life and the new Kurdish political system and the impact of this interaction on the performance of the political system and on the prospects and possibilities of achieving the process of democratic transformation of this system with its various components, considering that this transformation is a requirement to advance the tasks and burdens of the liberation and construction process in The framework for solving the Kurdish question in light of the new objective variables in the region. The research reached several conclusions, including: 1- There are encouraging achievements and developments towards the issue of democratic transformation in the Kurdistan region of Iraq in general. 2- The wave of democratic transformation began in the Kurdistan region of Iraq in the early 1990s, when the Kurdish political elite took power in the region. 3- The reasons for the democratic transformation in the Kurdistan region of Iraq may be from within or outside society. 4- The process of democratization in the Kurdistan region of Iraq is subject to many difficulties due to circumstances related to the nature of the region
