520 |d Le Mali a connu plusieurs crises, depuis son indépendance, dont la dernière remonte au coup d’Etat de 2012, contre le Président Amadou Toumani Touré, suivi de la proclamation unilatérale de l’indépendance de la région de l’AZAWAD. Suite à l’effondrement de l’armée malienne, la France a annoncé le lancement de l’opération Serval afin de stopper la progression de la rébellion nordiste. Notons également l’intervention de la CEDEAO dans cette situation militaro-politique alambiquée, afin de permettre le règlement de la crise, contrairement au rôle de l’Union Africaine qui fût insignifiant.  
520 |a مرت دولة مالي منذ استقلالها عن فرنسا بعدة أزمات تجسدت في محاولات انقلاب على النظام، وتقسيم الدولة بفصل الشمال عن الجنوب لتكوين دولة خاصة بالأزواد، كان آخرها أزمة سنة 2012 التي مازالت قائمة إلى يومنا هذا. بدأت بانقلاب على الرئيس "أمادوتوري" واستمرت بإعلان استقلال الشمال عن الجنوب، لعبت الحركات المسلحة فيها دورا في تصعيد الوضع من خلال إعلانها الزحف نحو الجنوب، مما قاد إلى التدخل العسكري الفرنسي الذي لم ينجح في حل الأزمة، كما لعبت منظمة "الإكواس" دورا أساسيا في محاولة إيجاد مخرج نهائي لها على عكس الاتحاد الإفريقي الذي اكتفى بدور ضئيل. 
520 |b Mali suffered several crises that appeared in the attempted coup and the division of the state to separate the north from the south in order to form the state of Azawad. The last crisis started in 2012, and still exists. The crisis began with a coup against the president of Mali. After that the armed Movements proclaimed the independence of northern Mali, then they announced that they would attack the South, which precipitated the French military intervention. The ECOWAS made great efforts to solve this crisis, unlike the African Union, which had a minimal role.
