استهدفت الدراسة الحالية، التعرف على تأثير الفانتازيا الجنسية على تعزيز العلاقة الحميمة بين الزوجين، وتحقيقا له قدمت الدراسة تساؤلا يبحث عن إلى أي مدى تؤثر الفانتازيا الجنسية على تعزيز العلاقة الحميمة. وتندرج هذه الدراسة ضمن الدراسات الاستطلاعية التحليلية معتمدة في منهجيتها لتحليل وتفسير إشكاليتها على الأسلوب النقدي والمقارن، مستعينة بالمسح الاجتماعي بالعينة المختارة من 74 مفردة من الأزواج والزوجات المقيمين بريف وحضر الفيوم. وقد استخلصت نتائجها ضمن إجراء مجموعة منتقاة من المعالجات الإحصائية التي قدمت تشريحيا للبيانات الكمية. وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى أن روتينية العلاقة الجنسية كانت من أهم أسباب تفكير الزوجين في استخدام الفانتازيا الجنسية. كما توصلت الدراسة إلى وجود فروق جوهرية بين الزوجين في الأنماط المستخدمة من الفانتازيا، كما أكدت الدراسة على أن البرامج الجنسية وما يقدم في الدراما كانت العامل الرئيس في تشكيل الفانتازيا لدى الزوجين. وأخيرا أكدت الدراسة على أن زيادة الشهوة الجنسية وسيادة حالة من الرضا الجنسي كانت من أهم الآثار الإيجابية للممارسة الزوجين للفانتازيا، في حين كان العنف الجنسي من أهم الآثار السلبية لها.
