يرتبط ازدهار الحركة العلمية في الملتان، بروابط متعددة منها موقع الملتان الاستراتيجي، حيث كانت الملتان ملتقى حضارات متعددة، مثل العربية والفارسية والسندية والهندية، كذلك اهتمام حكام الدولة الغورية، والمماليك بالعلم والعلماء في القرنيين السادس والسابع الهجريين، من خلال بناء المساجد والمدارس والإغداق على العلماء والاهتمام بهم، وإعطائهم مكانة مميزة لديهم فبسبب ذلك نبغ الكثير من علماء الملتان في شتى العلوم المختلفة، وتتناول هذه الدراسة التعريف بالملتان من حيث موقعها الجغرافي وبعض الأمور السياسية فيها، وبعدها مقومات وعوامل ازدهار الحركة العلمية فيها من خلال تأثير الحكام والولاة وكذا تأثرهم بالثقافة العربية الإسلامية، وكذلك الغزو المغولي وأثره في الحركة العلمية، ثم مراكز التعليم في الملتان فكانت الكتاتيب والمدارس والمساجد، وأخيرًا العلوم التي نبغ فيها أهل الملتان منها علم التفسير والحديث والفقه والتصوف وعلم التاريخ والنحو واللغة وأخير اختتمت الدراسة بخاتمة تناولت نتائج الدراسة.
The boom of the scientific movement in Multan is linked to various links, including its strategic location, being the meeting point for various civilizations, such as Arabic, Persian, Sindhi and Hindi, as well as the attention of the rulers of the Ghuri State and the Mamluks to science and scientists in the 6th and 7th centuries AH. They spent much on the construction of mosques and schools and bestowed money on scientists and they were held in high esteem. Therefore, there were many distinguished scholars in all fields in Multan. The present study gives an overview about Multan in terms of its geographical location and some political matters, and then the elements and factors contributing to the flourishing of the scientific movement through the influence of rulers and governors as well as the impact of the Arab-Islamic culture. The study also highlights the centers of education, such as mosques and schools. People of Multan were distinguished in many sciences, including the science of Quran interpretation, Hadith, jurisprudence, mysticism, history, Arabic grammar and language. Finally, the study concluded with a conclusion that dealt with the results of the study.
