|b The therapeutic use of camel milk and urine have been in practice by camel breeders in Africa, the Middle East and Asia since ancient times, but only recently has scientist started to take active interest to scrutinize these claimed therapeutic benefits. Currently there is mounting evidence drawn from laboratory and limited clinical studies to show that camel milk on its own and occasionally mixed with camel urine is effective in the management of diverse disease conditions including diabetes mellitus, cancer, autism, and viral, bacterial and parasitic infections and others. In addition a number of potential cardiovascular actions of camel milk and urine have been demonstrated in camel milk and urine, specifically, antiplatelet and anticoagulant actions that should await clinical application. A USA has recently been issued to our research group in which nano-technology has been employed in enhancing the efficacy of camel lactoferrin and casein as therapies for a wide range of malignancies, as antivirals, and as anticoagulants. The current review presents a concise summary of the scientific evidence to support these therapeutic actions.
