|b The research is related to one of the most prominent topics of the Qur’an sciences, namely the science of the chapters of the Glorious Quran. The research is based on tracing the premises for the scholars' ijtihad in the naming of the chapters, and the sources that mentioned them, including the methodology of the scholars in the ijtihad of naming the chapters of the Qur‘an, and the addition to what was reported from the Prophet –peace and blessing upon him- and his companions in naming the Qur‘an. The research concluded: that it is permissible to name the chapters of the Qur’an with a name derived through ijtihad, this is the position of scholars both in the past and the modern era, and that they did not disagree about that, and there are several causes and reasons for it. And the research decided: to consider some of the rulings and conditions in naming the chapters, the most important of which are: the widespread of the name and its popularity among all and sundry, and the caution not to abandon the reported name.

|a يتعلق البحث بنوع من أبرز موضوعات علوم القرآن، وهو علم سور القرآن الكريم. ويقوم البحث على تتبع أسباب الاجتهاد في تسمية السور، والمصادر التي أوردتها، وتلمس منهج العلماء في الاجتهاد في تسمية سور القرآن، والزيادة على ما ورد عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وصحابته في تسمية سور القرآن. وخلص البحث: إلى جواز تسمية سور القرآن باسم اجتهادي، وهو عمل العلماء قديما وحديثا، وأنهم لم يختلفوا في ذلك؛ ولذلك أسباب ودواع عدة. وقرر البحث: مراعاة بعض الضوابط والشروط في تسمية السور، من أهمها: استفاضة الاسم وشهرته بين العامة والخاصة، والتنبيه على عدم إغفال الاسم المأثور.
