لعبت المرأة في العصر المريني دورا بارزا في الحياة السياسية والاجتماعية والثقافية ولم تبخل بشيء في أداء واجبها بكل ما تملك من قوة في ظل الظروف السياسية والاجتماعية والثقافة المتاحة في ذلك للوقت. وتمتعت المرأة المغربية بقدر ككير من التقدير والاحترام سواء عند الحكام المرينيين، أو عند باقي فئات المجتمع المغربي، وظهرت المكانة السياسية لها. من خلال مساهمتها في تحقيق السلم بين الأطراف المتنازعة من خلال قبولها للزواج، ولو مكرهة، من رأس الطرف الغازي أو المهدد بالغزو، وكان الهدف. من هذه الزيجات السياسية لجم الصراع والتناحر، كذلك من خلال مساهمة المرأة في السفارة لبلادها في عهد السلطان أبو الحسن المريني. وظهرت المكانة الحربية للمرأة المغربية في قدرتها على إيقاف الحرب، أو الفعل الطيب فيها لصالحها، ولصالح الطرف المغلوب فيها، في ذلك العصر الذي بدأ بصراع طويل ومرير مع الموحدين واستمر. ثمانية وخمسين عاما، ومن خلال تدخلها لتخفيف آثار الحرب على الطرف المغزو، وذلك من خلال تدخلها لوقف الحصار على المدن وتخفيف آلام ذلك الحصار على أهالي هذه المدن، كما تمثل ذلك الدور في منع نشوب الحرب، واستيعاب نتائجها. أما المكانة الحضارية للمرأة المغربية فقد ظهرت من خلال مشاركتها في ممارستها الحياة اليومية داخل المجتمع المغربي فكان لها دورا مهما في إتمام عمليات الخطوبة وعقد الزيجات، وضمنت لها عقود الزواج حياتها الكريمة مع زوجها، فلا تتعرض في يوم من الأيام لإساءة المعاملة أو غير ذلك. ومنحها المجتمع المريني مكانة متميزة وذلك من خلال قدرتها في الوقوف أمام القضاء وأداء اليمين الواجبة أمام القاضي خاصة في القضايا التي تخص الحقوق المادية. كما ظهرت، المكانة العلمية لها في قدرتها على اختيارها للمعلمين الذين تميزوا بمقدرتهم العلمية الكبيرة، وعلى الرغم من إن حظ المرأة المغربية من التعليم كان قليلا إلا أن بعضهن قد نبغوا في علمي الفقه والأدب. أما المكانة الاقتصادية للمرأة المغربية فظهرت من خلال أدائها لبعض الأعمال الاقتصادية التي حفظت لها مكانتها في الأعمال التجارية داخل المجتمع المغربي في العصر المريني.

Her scientific standing manifested in her ability to select teachers who enjoyed great scientific knowledge. Despite the fact that the Moroccan woman had a little of education, some of them were well versed in jurisprudence and literature. The economic status of Moroccan woman emerged through the performance of some of the economic -works that had retained her place in the business within Moroccan society in the Marinite era.
