يهدف البحث إلى الوقوف على ما ورد من أقوال في تحديد المراد بالأعراف وأصحاب الأعراف، والوصول للقول الراجح في ذلك، لذلك جمعت فيه عموم الأقوال المتعلقة بمعني الأعراف حيث بلغت أربعة أقوال، رجحت فيها القول بأن المراد به أنه السور المضروب بين الجنة والنار، ثم جمعت في البحث عموم الأقوال المتعلقة بالمراد بأصحاب الأعراف، وهو أساس المراد بالبحث، وبلغ ما ورد في ذلك ثلاثة وعشرون قولا، ورجحت فيها القول بأنهم أقوام تساوت حسناتهم وسيئاتهم، فهم على سور بين الجنة النار، وبينت أوجه الترجيح، وأشرت مع الترجيح إلى وجاهة القول بالتوقف في المسألة بحجة أن الأدلة الواردة في التحديد لا تخلو من مقال، ثم في ختام البحث ذكرت أهم النتائج التي توصلت إليها، سائلا الله تعالى أن يجعله بحثا نافعا لمن كتبه وقرأه.
The objective of the research is to explore the different views of schoolers in identifying the meaning of “AL’AARAF”, people related to “AL’AARAF” and trying to reach the most optimum view among the different ones. Therefore I have collected and studied the different views which have reached four different views. The view I believe is the most accurate is that “AL’AARAF” is the fence that is separating Heaven from Hell. Thereafter I have collected and studied in this research the different views of who are those people who are called “The People of “AL’AARAF” which is the core of the research. Worthwhile highlighting that there are twenty three different views and the one I believe the most accurate is the one suggesting that they are those whom their good deeds are equal to their sins and therefore they are on this fence that is between Heaven and Hell. Furthermore, I have pointed out the different evidences supporting this view. Nevertheless and while selecting what I believe is the most accurate view, I have highlighted the other relevant view of withholding the comparison between the different views since the supporting evidences used for each might not be genuine and therefore the specific meaning of “the People of “AL’AARAF”” is not known. In closing the research, I have listed the most important conclusions that I have reached praying to Almighty, Allah for this research to be of high benefits for the author and the readers.
