This is mainly a cross-sectional study, which tries to explore the influence of career related factors among others on the fertility drive of the female doctors in Jeddah. The study examines the effects of each of above factors on the fertility attitudes among those covered in the study sample. The results varied one variable to another. However, the study succeeded to establish the overall assumption that career affects the fertility attitude negatively. Nevertheless, the factors from the social and religious domains also proved their powerful influence on the respondents' attitudes towards fertility. The study, however, did not claim to have researched a clear definite causal relationship due to many limitations that accompanied it, yet, the study has the merit of being a pioneer for future studies in this area.
