The crisis of water scarcity in the Middle East is getting worse. For many years, many countries have been facing a worsening of water scarcity, adding a range of economic, social and economic pressures due to the terrible population growth, increasing demand for water, climate change and urbanization .This paper review and evaluates current and future social and environmental pressures on water resources. The results show that the pressures are not homogenous throughout the region. A search of the English literature addressing social and environmental pressures on water resources, water scarcity, and related topics was conducted using online resources and databases accessed through the Egyptian Knowledge Bank - EKB. To avoid water scarcity in the Middle East, countries in the region should review their water, food security and energy policies and formulate effective investment plans to mitigate environmental, social and economic pressures.
