|a كان لأمين سعيد جهوده العلمية البارزة والتي كان لها الأثر في الحياة الثقافية، والعلمية، وكان له إسهاماته البارزة في الكتابة والتأليف، وأسهم في إذكاء الروح الوطنية، داخل بلده بمشاركته في الحركة الوطنية العربية، فكان قريبا من صناع الأحداث أخذ منهم وسجل ما سمع وقرأ وشاهد فكان شاهدا للحدث قريبا من مركز القرار لذا جمع بين العمل السياسي وتدوين التاريخ. ويعد أمين سعيد واحدا من هؤلاء الذين أسهموا في إثراء المكتبة التاريخية في تاريخ العرب الحديث والمعاصر ويمكن تصنيف هذا المؤرخ ضمن مجموعة الهواه في كتابة التاريخ. وستلقي هذه الدراسة الضوء على بعض الجوانب المهمة لهذا المؤرخ العربي ومنها التعريف به، والعرض لمعظم مؤلفاته التي مكنتنا من الوقوف على منهجه في الكتابة التاريخية وخصص جزءا مهما من هذه الدراسة للحديث على الثورة العربية الكبرى 1916م باعتبارها من أهم القضايا التي تناولها في كتاباته حيث أنه كان قريبا منها ومن صناع الحدث فيها ونقارن بين كتابته لها وعن رأي بعض المؤرخين الدين تناولوا الثورة وعايشوها.

|b The historical efforts of Ameen saeed (The Great Arab Revolt 1916- in his writings) Ameen Saeed had prominent scientific efforts which had an impact on the cultural and scientific life. He also had outstanding contributions in writing. By participating in the Arab national movement, he contributed in stimulating the national spirit within his country. Ameen was close to the event makers as he learned from them, recorded what he heard and witnessed what happened. Therefore, he was a witness to the event, near from the decision center. Thus, he combined political work with recording history. Ameen Saeed is one of those who contributed in enriching the historical library in the history of contemporary literature. This study will shed light on some remarkable aspects of this Arab historian including the definition of him, the displaying of some of his writings and standing on his method in historical writing. Part of this study is devoted to talk about the Great Arab Revolt of 1916 as it is considered to be the most important issue Ameen dealt with in his writings. In addition, we compare between Ameen's writing and the opinion of some historians who dealt with the revolution and lived through it.
