المستخلص: ظل الإنسان منذ آلاف السنين وهو يفكر في كل ما بحوله من أجل توفير المأكل والملبس والمأوى، لذلك فإن الفكر الجغرافي كان جزءا من هذا ينضاف إليه توزيع السكان وأنشطتهم، مما يتطلب جهود كبيرة لا سيما في الأزمنة القديمة من أجل توفير تلك المعلومات وبناء عليها لمعرفة الأرض وتضاريسها وتفسير هذه الظاهرات الجغرافية وغيرها، وقد تطلب ذلك آلاف السنين. وأول من أهتم بهذا المجال، الأغريق، المصريون والبابليون واليونانيون. وكان لكل منهما ما يميز حضارته في هذا المجالي الفكري والمعرفي وفي الكشوف الجغرافية. حسب أهمية موقع الحضارة وما إلى ذلك.

Since thousand years ago, the human being remained thinking of his surrounding in order to provide food, clothes and shelter. Therefore, the geography thought was a part of portion of this subject as long as the distribution of the population and their activities, which demanded great efforts. Principally, in the ancient times which provided more interested information. They based on that information which gave knowledge about the earth and its relief and the explanations of this geographical phenomenon and other. This has taken thousands of years. However, the first to care about this field were the Hellenization, Egyptian, Babylonians and Greeks. Each of these for mentioned interpretations has his civilization which distinguished him from the other in this intellectual and knowledgeable field as well as geographic discoveries. This studying changed according to the importance of the site of geographical civilization and other resources
