المستخلص: تركت شخصية عبدالمجيد علاوي اثرا بارزا في تاريخ العراق السياسي من خلال ادائه الوظيفي في المناصب التي تولاها في السلطات كافة ، التنفيذية منها والتشريعية والقضائية ، وفي ضوء ذلك ، تضمنت دراسة تلك الشخصية التاريخية نشأته وسيرته التعليمية والفكرية ، واهم المناصب التي شغلها سواءا اذا كان نائبا في مجلس النواب والاعيان ، او وزيرا للشؤون الاجتماعية ، او وزيرا للمواصلات ، اذ كان حريصا في عمله بهدف خدمة المجتمع العراقي ورفع شأن بلده عاليا.

Abed Al-Majeed Alawy’s social and cultural status lies in his intellectual growth which built throughout the nature of the family in which he was brought up. Its social nature made him acquire many qualities and characteristics which were unchanged in his life until his death in 1990. Always personality reflects the commitment in the common habits and traditions which are known by the Iraqi society. On the other hand, he was also committed in the regulations of the noble Islamic religion as well as in the sermons and lessons of the Holy Quran. This is plain in his works and situations especially his situation with poor people of Iraq, his role in the discussions of the senate, and his defense to his land and country in the international events in which he contributed through several international conferences. It can be said that always roles in all of his diplomatic and political positions stemmed from his sincere loyalty to his country, people, and real patriotism. For this reason, the royal authorities appointed him and assigned important sensitive diplomatic tasks to him related to the Iraqi affairs during that time of the Iraqi modern history. He was dedicated in serving his country whether inside Iraq or outside. Alawy’s disinterest in being nominated for important positions, believing that serving the Iraqi society can be done in any place and position whether by an ordinary citizen or a president. Therefore, the principles in which he believed was embodied in his political, social, diplomatic procedures and they reflected positively on the Iraqi sociality more broadly.
