تمثل محطات الإطفاء أحد الاتجاهات التطبيقية الحديثة في جغرافية الخدمات، والتي تلقى الضوء على تلك الخدمة الحيوية، فلا غنى عنها في احتياجات المجتمع إليها لكونها مرتبطة بتوزيع السكان فأينما وجد السكان لا بد من وجود هذه الخدمة، لها بالغ الأهمية في الحفاظ على أرواح السكان وسلامة وحماية المنشآت بكافة أنواعها السكنية والتنموية، وكذا سلامة المواصلات وحماية كافة المؤسسات والهيئات العامة والخاصة. وتلقى الدراسة الضوء على الصورة التوزيعية لمواقع نقط الإطفاء من منظور مكاني، وكذا معرفة عددها هل كافٍ لمنطقة الدراسة لتحقيق إمكانية الوصول السهل لمكان الأزمة في أقل وقت ممكن من أقرب النقط، أم أنها قليلة لا تكفى احتياجات الخدمة منها فتقف حائلاً في سرعة الوصول لمكان الأزمة لقلة عددها. أضف إلى ذلك أيضاً دراسة الأجهزة والمعدات المكملة لعملها وأيضاً مناطق خدمة نفوذها ومدى تباعدها وحجمها بما يتناسب مع امتداد نفوذها لتغطية كافة أنشطة مراكز محافظة المنيا من ناحية، وحجم سكان وكتل مساكنها من ناحية أخرى، ومن ثم إظهار صورة النطاق الخدمي لنفوذها، إلى جانب ذلك دراسة أسباب وأنواع الحرائق وحجم خسائرها ومعدلات حدوثها الشهرية والمعوقات التي تواجهها وسبل التغلب عليها.
Fire station service is one of the modern applied trends in service geography. It is an indispensable service to the society as it is related to the distribution of the population. This service must exist wherever people exist, as it is of crucial importance for the preservation of people's lives, the safety and protection of different housing and developmental establishments, the safety of transportation means, and the protection of all public and private institutions. The present study sheds light on the spatial distribution of fire stations and seeks to identify their number to see whether they are adequate for the region under study to achieve easy access to the crisis area as soon as possible, and whether they are few and do not meet the needs for them and, as a result, they cannot be easily reached due to their paucity. In addition, the present study sheds light on the equipment and devices that complement their work, their places, the distances between them, and their sizes to see if they are sufficient to cover all the activities of the towns of El-Minia Governorate on the one hand, and if they are proportionate to the size of the population and buildings on the other. Besides, the study will examine the causes and types of fires, the size of losses resulting from them, their monthly incidence rate, the obstacles they face, and the means for overcoming them.
