إن ثقافتنا العربية قامت على الاستقراء، ومن ثم التحليل والاستنباط، وفى هذه الأسس تأثر علماؤنا بالفكر الرياضي؛ حيث جمعوا ألفاظ العربية، وحصروها بطريقة رياضية، معتمدين فيها على التفسير والتعليل، وظهر ذلك في كتبهم، والمنطق الرياضي يستند إلى النظام الاستنباطي الذي يجعل غير المترابط نظاما متماسكا يعطينا مجموعة من القوانين الثابتة، وهذا ما حدث في النحو؛ حيث تساق الوحدات اللغوية وفق تركيب لغوي خاضع لعلاقات مرتبة ومتناسقة يقبلها منطق العقل، ويقيس عليها، وعلم النحو مؤسس على علاقات قائمة بين أجزاء الكلام، ولا تتم اكتشاف ماهية هذه العلاقات إلا باتباع منهج علمي يقوم على ملاحظة الظواهر اللغوية، ومن ثم ملاحظة النحاة لظاهرة الإعراب، ثم التجربة للتدليل على صحة ما توصل إليه النحاة في استقرائهم من نتائج، ثم وضع الفروض للوصل إلى استنباط أساليب الصياغة الصحيحة، وإذا صدقت الفروض، وأثبت النحاة صوابها أصبحت قاعدة عامة، كما يعد القياس- بقسميه القياس الاستقرائي والقياس الشكلي - ملمحا من ملامح الترابط القوي بين المنطق الرياضي والنحو؛ لأنه يقوم على أصل وفرع وعلة وحكم.
