كـانـت الـحـرب مظهـرًا واضـحـًا مـن مظاهـر الحيـاة العربيـة قبـل الإسـلام، وكان لـدى العـربـي إكبـار وتعظيـم للبطولـة والشـجاعة والاستعداد للخطـر، فلا نعجـب أن نجـد معظـم قصائـد الشـعر الجاهـلي أو كلهـا، لـم تـخـل واحـدة منهـا عـن الحديـث عـن الـحـرب أو مـا يتصـل بـهـا، كمـا اهـتمـوا بـالقـوة ونبـذوا الضعـف والهـوان، وتغنـوا كثيرًا بأسـلحتهم، فـلا يـكاد يخلـو ديـوان شـاعر منهـم عـن الحديـث عنـه أو الإشـارة إليـه. تعـددت دوافـع الـحـرب عـنـد عـرب الجزيـرة قبـل الإسـلام، فمنهـا مـا هـو اقتصـادي، واجتماعـي، وسـياسي، وقـد أدت هـذه الـحـروب إلى نتائـج متعـددة، وآثـار واضـحـة، سـيطرة عـلى عـقـل العـربـي مـدة طويلـة مـن الـزمـن. ولأهميـة الـحـرب في فـكـر عـرب الجزيـرة قبـل الإسـلام، فـقـد حـرص الجميـع عـلى المشـاركة فيهـا، رجـالًا ونسـاءً وأطـفـالاً، ولـم تـكـن هـذه المشـاركة عـن رغبـة وحـب، بـل كـانـت إلزامـًا وإكراهـًا، حتـى لا يلحقـه الـعـار والـذم بـين كل القبائـل، وكانـت لهـذه المعـارك والـحـروب عـادات وتقاليـد، حرصـوا عـلى اتباعهـا، وطـرق خاصـة للاستعداد لهـا، عنـد الباديـة والـحـاضرة، كمـا اسـتخدموا أسـاليب متعـددة في حروبهـم. وتكمـن أهميـة هـذا البحـث في الحديـث عـن الحـرب والقتـال عـنـد عـرب الجزيـرة قـبـل الإسـلام، مـن جميـع الجوانـب، ومـا آلـت إلـيـه هـذه الحـروب، وموقف شيوخ القبائـل والشـعراء والعلمـاء منهـا، كمـا تـكـمـن أهـميـة هـذا البحـث كذلـك، في التعـرف عـلى موقـف العامـة مـن عـرب الجزيـرة قـبـل الإسـلام مـن القتـال، وهـل فعـلًا تولعـوا بعشـق الـحـرب والغـزو! كمـا حـاول الباحـث التعـرف عـلى أسـباب كثـرة المعـارك عنـد عـرب الجزيـرة، ودوافعهـا، ونتائجهـا. وقـد اعتمـد الباحـث في منهجيتـه عـلى البحـث التاريخـي، الـذي يـقـوم عـلى اسـتقصاء الحقائـق والوقائـع التاريخيـة، وتحليلهـا وتعليلهـا، لاسـتخلاص النتائـج المرجـوة، وعـلى أسـلـوب الـعـرض والمقارنـة والنقـد. ويهـدف هـذا البحـث إلى تبيـان مـعـنـى الـحـرب والقتـال، والفـرق بينهمـا، والمفـردات الأخـرى التـي اسـتخدمها عـرب الجزيـرة قبـل الإسـلام، وتـدل معانيهـا عـلى الـحـرب كذلـك، كمـا يهـدف البحـث إلى ذكـر الدوافـع للـحـرب، والأسلحة التـي اسـتخدمها عـرب الجزيـرة في قتالهـم، وكيفيـة الاسـتعداد، ودور المـرأة فيـه، والفـرق في القتـال بـين سـكان المـدن وسـكان البادية في الجزيرة العربيـة. إن السـالك لطريـق الـعـلـم تعترضـه العقبـات ويواجـه الصعوبـات، ومـن يطلب الشـهد تصبـه إبـر النـحـل، لـكـن متـى صـح الـعـزم وضـح السـبيل، واللـه تعـالى وحـده بـكل جميـل كفيـل، ومـن الصعوبـات التـي واجهـت الباحـث: قلـة المصـادر والمراجـع التاريخيـة القديمـة والحديثـة، التـي تحدثـت بإسـهـاب عـن حـروب عـرب الجزيـرة قبـل الإسـلام، مـن جميـع الـجـوانـب، ومـن الصعوبـات كذلـك عـدم توفـر العديـد مـن دواويـن الشـعراء العربـي قبـل الإسـلام، في المكتبـات العامـة، وهـي المصـادر الأساسية التـي اعتمـد عليهـا الباحـث في كتابـة هـذا البحـث، ولكـن الباحث بـذل قصارى جهـده لجمـع هـذه المعلومـات، وتدوينهـا في هـذا البحـث، بأسـلوب سـهل ومبسـط للجميـع. وقـد نـتـج عـن حـروب ومـعـارك عـرب الجزيـرة قبـل الإسـلام، العديـد مـن الأمـور، التـي كـان لهـا تأثيرهـا الواضـح عـلى المسـتوى الجماعـي والـفـردي، وقـد بقيـت هـذه النتائـج مـدة طويلـة مـن الـزمـن، لـم يـسـتطع العـرب التخلـص منهـا، إلا بظهـور دعوة الرسـول محمد.
War was a clear manifestation of Arab life before Islam. The Arab had greatness and veneration for heroism. courage and readiness to risk. So it is not surprising that we find that not one of most or all pre-Islamic poetry poems devoid of talking about war or what is related to it. Also. they cared for strength and rejected weakness and dishonor. They sang a lot with their weapons. So a collection of poems of their poets is hardly devoid of talking about it or refer to it. There were many motives for war among the Arabs of the Arabian Peninsula before Islam. Some of them were economic, social, and political. These wars have led to multiple results and clear effects that controlled the mind of the Arab for a long period of time. As for the importance of war in the thought of the Arabs of the Arabian Peninsula before Islam, everyone, whether men, women and children, was keen to participate in it. This participation was not out of desire and love but it was an obligation and coercion, so that no shame and slander could touch him among all tribes. These battles and wars had customs and traditions they were keen to follow, and special ways to prepare for them, both in the desert and the urban. They also used multiple methods in their wars. The importance of this research lies in taking about war and fighting among the Arabs in the Arabian Peninsula before Islam, in all aspects, what these wars led to, and the attitude of sheikhs, poets and scholars in tribes. The importance of this research also lies in identifying the attitude of the public of Arabs in the Arabian Peninsula before Islam regarding fighting, and did they really love war and invasion! The researcher also tried to identify the causes of the frequent battles among the Arabs of the Arabian Peninsula, their motives, and their results. The researcher has depended on historical research in his methodology, which is based on investigating facts and historical facts and analyzing and explaining them to extract the desired results. It is also based on the method of presentation, comparison and criticism. This research aims to show the meaning of war and fighting, the difference between them, and other vocabulary used by the Arabs in the Arabian Peninsula before Islam. Their meanings indicate war as well. Also the research aims to mention the motives of the war, the weapons used by the Arabs of the Arabian Peninsula in their fight, how to prepare, the role of women in it, and the difference in the fighting between the inhabitants of the cities and the inhabitants of the desert in the Arabian Peninsula. The one who seeks the knowledge faces obstacles and difficulties. The one who asks honey is bitten by bees. But when the determination is true, the path is clear. Allah Almighty alone is a guarantor of all the best. Among the difficulties that faced the researcher: The lack of ancient and modern historical sources and references, which talked in detail about the wars of the Arabs of the Arabian Peninsula before Islam in all aspects. Among the difficulties is also unavailability of many poem collections of pre-Islamic Arab poets in public libraries, which are the main sources on which the researcher depended in writing this research. But the researcher did his best to collect this information and write it in this research in a simple and easy style for everyone. The wars and battles of the Arabs of the Arabian Peninsula before Islam resulted in many matters that had a clear impact effect at the group and individual level. These results remained for a long period of time, which the Arabs could not get rid of, except with the emergence of the call to Allah by Prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him.
