Environment management system is a global tool that can be applied by any type of organization to improve management of environmental aspects and access to continuous improvement of environmental performance. It is a "plan to address current and long-term environmental impacts of products and services produced and provided by the organization." In order to be registered, environmental management systems must meet the requirements of the ISO 14001 standard, which helps reduce the negative impact of activities and operations on the internal and external environment of the organization, as organizations that obtain ISO 14001 and other ISO specifications become unwilling to deal with companies that have not received accreditation, where accreditation affects Companies to positively speculate on their operating performance. The basic idea of applying the ISO 14001 standard and using it as an effective tool for continuous improvement is that ISO is not considered a tool to measure the level of performance in the organization. Among the many challenges facing the field of environmental management is how to measure the environmental performance and methods of evaluation, and the availability of environmental management systems through the ISO 14031:2013 specification necessary quantitative data on environmental performance that is placed in environmental reports, where environmental performance assessment helps organizations measure, evaluate and publish performance Environmental performance using key performance indicators by collecting, documenting, and verifiable indicators. |
