المستخلص: Sea freight represents the price paid by the shipper and / or the consignee for the movement of the goods. The Maritime’s doctrine specifies that the freight debt is the consideration for the service rendered by the carrier. The freight is, in principle, is fixed by the contract and freely discussed between the parties. Its determination is in fact left to the will of the parties. The amount of freight varies depending on the distance to be traveled, the peculiarities and specifics of the cargo which require special stowage techniques and a specially equipped vessel. Likewise, this amount may vary depending on all of these factors combined. The freight amount can include other charges like transshipment, handling, and more ... and it depends on the chosen Liner terms.
