جاء البحث في مقدمة، وتمهيد، وثلاثة مباحث، وخاتمة، وفيه تم بيان مصطلحات البحث، وفضل أبي بكر وعمر رضي الله عنهما، ودراسة حديث خصومتهما رواية ودراية، ثم عرض سبع قواعد عامة حاكمة للخصومات بين الأفاضل، وبيان ستة آداب ينبغي للأفاضل مراعاتها، ثم ختم بذكر خمسة أحكام فقهية متعلقة بالخصومة بين الأفاضل. ومن أبرز نتائج البحث أن وقوع الخصومة بين الأفاضل دليل غلبة طبيعتهم البشرية، وأن الغضب أصل تنشأ عنه الخصومات ويقع بسببه الاعتداء اللفظي والجسدي، وأن الذي يقدم المسلم على غيره من المسلمين طاعته لله ورسوله، وكثرة قرباته ومسارعته في الخيرات، وأنه كلما تجرد من حظوظ نفسه استطاع ضبط تصرفاته وتغلب على هواه، فنتج عن ذلك صدقه وسرعة فيئته للحق والمبادرة للاعتذار عن الخطأ، وقبول عذر من يعتذر إليه. ومن أبرز توصيات البحث أنه ينبغي للأفاضل أن يتوقوا الخصومة قدر الإمكان؛ لأنهم رأس الناس وقدوتهم، والناس تبع لهم، يقتدون بهم ويقلدونهم في أقوالهم وأفعالهم، كما ينبغي أن يكون أسلوب تعاملهم مختلفا عن غيرهم، إذ ينبغي أن يتحاكموا إلى الفضلاء أمثالهم -بادئ الأمر -فإن تم الاتفاق والصلح وإلا فلهم بعد ذلك التخاصم إلى القضاء ليفصل بينهم بالعدل، كما ينبغي أيضا أن تبني العلاقات الاجتماعية بين المسلمين على الرحمة والمودة.

Among the most prominent results of the research is the occurrence of dispute between the virtuous is an evidence of the predominance of their human nature, the anger is a source from which the disputes arise, which led to verbal and physical assault, and that makes the Muslim virtuous over other Muslims his obedience for Allah and His Messenger, his many Nearness and speed in good deeds, whenever he stripped himself of his fortunes He was able to control his behavior and overcome his whims, which resulted in his sincerity and speed of his return to the right and initiative to apologize for the mistake and accept the excuse of those who apologize to him. Among the most prominent recommendations of the research is the virtuous should avoid to dispute as much as possible, because they are the top of the people and their example, the people followed them, imitate them in their sayings and actions, as it should be the manner of their treatment different from others, as they should go for judgment to the virtues their likes - First of all - if there is an agreement and reconciliation, otherwise they may then litigation to the judiciary to separate them with justice. Also, social relations between Muslims should be built on mercy and affection.
