المستخلص: يناقش هذا البحث قضية القمع السياسي والبحث عن الذات للكاتبة لهرتا موللر في روايتين هما: أرجوحة النفس، والثعلب كان آنذاك هو الصياد. قدمت الكاتبة في رواية (الثعلب كان آنذاك هو الصياد) صورا أدبية للقمع السياسي والخوف والمعاناة واليأس الذي يتولد عن القهر النفسي للذات الإنسانية حيث عانت الكاتبة نفسها تلك المشاعر الإنسانية مثل: الإحساس بالغربة، والمطاردة والقمع السياسي وتحاول أن ترسم لها ذاتا جديدة في أرض تشعر فيها بالأمن والطمأنينة. وفي رواية (أرجوحة النفس) تبرر الكاتبة أملها في الحرية والبحث عن الذات ودفع الظلم والقهر والقمع وإظهار الآثار الاجتماعية والنفسية لتلك الممارسات السياسية القاسية. ومن أهم نتائج البحث إظهار قيمة الذات الإنسانية وتجسيد صور القمع والخوف وكيفية محاربة تلك الصور والسعي للتغلب عليها والتأكيد على كرامتها وحريتها في كل العصور.

This research deals with the issue of political repression and self-seeking by Hertha Mueller in two novels: The Swing of the Soul, and the Fox was the Hunter at the time. In the novel The Fox was the Hunter, the writer presented literary images of the political repression, fear, suffering, and despair generated by the psychological oppression of the human self, where the writer herself suffered such human feelings as: the sense of alienation, persecution and political oppression, In a land where you feel safe and secure. In her novel "The Swing of the Soul," the author highlights her hope for freedom, self-seeking, oppression, oppression and repression, and the social and psychological effects of these harsh political practices. The most important results of the research show the value of human self and the embodiment of images of repression and fear and how to fight those images and strive to overcome them and emphasize the dignity and freedom of all ages
