|a This research studies the linguistic aspect of the Iraqi constitution in the light of pragmatics linguistics. It starts studying the theory of speech acts in the constitutional discourse which based on the achievement not on the news. This consists of verbal acts of the categories: declaratives, directives, commissives and informatives; whereas the fifth category: expressives cannot be found in the Iraqi constitution. Informatives are considered to be the less presence category in comparison to declaratives whish are of high presence. Furthermore, the research studies text reference in the constitutional discourse, showing its concept, types and analysis. It also studies the phenomenon of deixis and statement of its concept, types and analysis. Finally, it studies the phenomenon of presupposition and its concept, types and analysis in the constitution.
