يحاول البحث قياس مدى إفادة الباحثين بكلية الهندسة من محرك البحث ei-compendex المتاح من خلال بوابة بنك المعرفة المصري EKB، من حيث قواعد البيانات المتاحة من خلاله، وآلية عمل محرك البحث وطريقة البحث به والتغطية الموضوعية والهدف من إنشاؤه. كما أوضحت الدراسة أن طلاب قسم الهندسة الكيميائية والهندسة الإنشائية هم الأكثر إقبالا على استخدام محرك البحث Ei-compendex بنسبة 18.3 %، يليهم طلاب قسم الهندسة الميكانيكية بنسبة 13.3 %، بينما أقل الأقسام استخداما قسم الرياضيات والفيزياء، وقسم الهندسة الصحية بنسبة 1.6 %، كما أشارت الدراسة أن الباحثين تعرفوا على محرك البحث Ei-compendex، عن طريق البحث وتصفح الانترنت حيث جاءت في المرتبة الأولى بنسبة 66.6% أما الإعلانات والمنشورات تساوت بنسبة 1.6 %، وهذا يدل على أن الانترنت لعبت دورا كبيرا في تعريف الباحثين بمحرك البحث الهندسي، كما كانت نسبة الاستخدام من المنزل في المركز الأولى بنسبة 93.3 %، أما معامل الحاسب الآلي داخل الكلية فلم تحظى بأي استجابات. ولقد أوضحت الدراسة أن محرك البحث الهندسي قد ساهم في رفع كفاءة الأبحاث العلمية التي قام بها الباحثون بكلية الهندسة – جامعة الإسكندرية، حيث جاءت إجاباتهم على الإستبانة لتوكد على ذلك، بدليل حصول عنصر ساهمت بشكل كبير على المركز الأول بنسبة 76.6 % وبعدد تكرارات 230 مائتين وثلاثون استجابة. كما أوضحت الدراسة أن إتاحة قواعد المعلومات من محرك البحث الهندسي قد ساعد على توفير الوقت المطلوب للباحثين بكلية الهندسة – جامعة الإسكندرية كي يتمكنوا من إتمام بحوثهم، حيث جاءت إجابات الباحثين بإن محرك البحث قد وفر أكثر من 50 % من الوقت للباحثين بنسبة 75 % وبعدد تكرارات 225 استجابة، وجاءت في المركز الأول. كما أوضحت الدراسة بيان مدى رضا الباحثين بشكل عام عن محرك البحث الهندسي وخدماته، حيث أجاب معظم الباحثين بكلية الهندسة – جامعة الإسكندرية أنهم راضين بدرجة كبيرة عن تلك الخدمات وبلغت نسبتهم 58.3 %.
The research tries to measure the extent to which researchers at the College of Engineering benefit from the ei-compendex search engine available through the Egyptian Knowledge Bank EKB portal, in terms of the databases available through it, the search engine's mechanism of action, the method of searching with it, the objective coverage and the goal of creating it. Students of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Structural Engineering are the most popular with the Ei-compendex search engine by 18.3%, followed by students of the Mechanical Engineering Department by 13.3%, while the least used departments are the Department of Mathematics and Physics, and the Department of Sanitary Engineering by 1.6%. The study also indicated that Researchers got to know the IE compendex search engine, by searching and browsing the internet, where it ranked first with 66.6%, while advertisements and publications equaled 1.6%, and this indicates that the internet played a big role in introducing researchers to the engineering search engine, as was the percentage of use from home ln the first place with a rate of 93.3%, while the computer labs within the college did not receive any responses. The study showed that the engineering search engine has contributed to raising the efficiency of scientific research carried out by researchers at the Faculty of Engineering - University of Alexandria, as their answers to the questionnaire came to confirm this, as evidenced by the fact that an element that contributed significantly to the first place by 76.6% and the number of iterations of 230 two hundred and thirty Response., The study also showed that the availability of information databases from the engineering search engine helped to save the time required for researchers at the Faculty of Engineering - Alexandria University in order to be able to complete their research, as the researchers‘ answers came that the search engine saved more than 50% of the time for researchers by 75% and a number An iterations of 225 responses, and came in first place. The study also clarified the extent of researchers ‘satisfaction in general with the engineering search engine and its services.
