رواية عبد الله التلالي، من الروايات التي تعطي الشخصيات أهمية خاصة، دون إهمال المكان، لذا أطلقنا عليها "رواية الشخصية البطل" لأن شخصية التلالي تشكل العمود الفقري في معمار الرواية، ونجدها تعالج موضوعاً مهماً وحساساً إلى حد بعيد، ألا وهو علاقة المثقف بالسلطة، والتفاوت في التفكير بين (السلطة والمثقف) إذ كل منهما يمثل نهجاً يتوازى مع الآخر وينادده، حتى تفتضح النوايا، ويبين المستور حيث الصراع الفكري يحتدم بين الفريقين، إذ يحاول كل فريق السيطرة على الآخر، إلا أن حالات التلاقي قد تنعدم، والصراع يبقى عالقاً في المكان والزمان. كلّ ذلك جاء بلغة واضحة المعالم والدلالات، تحمل في ثناياها الفكرة المبحوث عنها والفلسفة التي ينادي بها الكاتب والتي شخصها عبر شخصياته، التي تراوحت بين الحقيقة والرمز الدال على أهدافه ومبتغاه، لذا جاءت صفحات الرواية كاشفة للمستور وفاضحه للنوايا والظنون.
"Abdullah Al Tilali" is a novel which gives its characters a special importance without ignoring the place. Because of that the novel could be called "the novel of the protagonist characters". "Tilali’s" character acts like a skeleton in the novel structure. This particular character seems to deal with an important and sensitive dilemma, which is, the relation between the authority and the intellectual individual. Both of the authority and the intellectual are of parallel roles on one hand, and on the other each one opposes the other in a way that reveals what is unrevealed. It increases the struggle between the two parties within the conflict which will never be solved where each of them insists on taking over the other. With a simple direct language for getting to the point, the author talked about the Authority/ individual intellectual dilemma, he tdd what the readers didn't know. He composed a novel that held the truth through its characters, symbols, and language to reveal the hidden and makes clear to the reader such a dilemma.
