تعد الثنائية الضدية عملية متأصلة في الإبداع الشعري، لأن الشعر يحمل في جوهره سمة التضاد الذي يلجأ إليه الشاعر لخلق "التوتر" و"الفجوة"، ويجعل من النص عملا إبداعيا يحدث هزة ويحقق شعورا جماليا ويؤسس لرؤيا فكرية. ولعل هذا الاستخدام هو الذي يحقق شعرية النص وجماليته. والعناصر الداخلية في النص الشعري تنشأ من حساسية الشاعر والضغوط الخارجية التي يتعرض لها. وهذا ينتج أزمة نفسية وحالة من التمزق والتشتت النفسي عبرت عن نفسها في سلسلة ثنائيات متضادة تنتشر في نصوص الشعراء. والثنائية الضدية التي سينطلق منها البحث ستكون على نوعين اثنين: النوع الأول ثنائية ضدية تستمد حركيتها وفاعليتها من الفاعلية اللغوية والبلاغية التي تتأسس في النص الأدبي وأبرز مثال لهذا النوع الطباق والمقابلة التي عني الدرس البلاغي العربي بها. والنوع الثاني ضدية تستمد بعدها من الصور المتضادة التي يشكلها المبدع في نصه.
