أن ولادة بعض الصحف المجانية وانتشارها الكبير قد أخذت دور البديل أو المنافس للصحف التقليدية المدفوعة القيمة المتعرضة إلى منافسه وتحديات كبيرة وخطيرة من جانب العديد من أشكال المنافسة الأخرى مثل الصحافة إلكترونية والقنوات الفضائية وغيرها من التطورات المساعدة في بروز وانتشار الصحافة المجانية بصورتين، منها ما هو مرتبط بالمؤسسة الإعلامية التقليدية أي مرتبطة بصحيفة معينة معروفة تقوم بإصدار صحيفة أو عدة صحف تقليدية مدفوعة القيمة وتشكل الصحيفة المجانية احدى هذه الإصدارات، ومنها ما هو قائم بذاته باعتباره مشروعا ووليدا إعلاميا له كل صفات وفنون ومميزات الصحيفة الناجحة، وتمثل صحيفة ميتر وأوضح مثال على الصحيفة المجانية المستقلة القاتمة بذاتها وغير المرتبطة بصحف أخرى. تنتشر الصحافة المجانية بسرعة كبيرة وذلك لأهميتها في الوصول إلى جمهور كبير، ولكنها في ذات الوقت لا تستند على قاعدة علمية ومعلوماتية عن جمهورها، فيجب أن تعرف مدى مقروئية هذه الصحف المجانية ومدى وصولها إلى الجمهور من خلال رصد وتوصيف سمات وخصائص قراء الصحف المجانية في مصر ودوافعهم والاشباعات المتحققة منها ومدى وصولها إلى الجمهور وتقييمه ونسبة اهتمامه بها مقارنة بالصحف المدفوعة والكيفية التي يقرأ به الجمهور موضوعاتها وتفضيلاته لهذه الموضوعات والمصادر التي تعتمد عليها هذه الصحف وأبرز الموضوعات التي تناولتها، وأهم الفنون الصحفية المستخدمة في الصحف عينة الدراسة. توصلت الدراسة إلى أن نسبة 80% من أفراد العينة يثقوا في ما تقدمه جريدة المصير اليوم دائما ونسبة 19% منهم يثقوا فيما تقدمه أحيانا ونسبة 1% منهم نادرا ما يثقوا في ما تقدمه، كما أن نسبة 87.7% من أفراد العينة يثقوا في جريدة المصير اليوم بسبب سمعة الصحيفة ونسبة 47% منهم يثقوا فيها التميز بالدقة توافر التكامل ونسبة 38.3% منهم يثقوا فيها بسبب الصدق. وأن نسبة 82.3% من أفراد العينة يروا أن أهم الموضوعات التي تجدها في جريدة المصير اليوم هي موضوعات نبض الشارع ونسبة 61.7% منهم يروا أنها موضوعات الإقليم المحافظة ونسبة 54% منهم يروا أنها القضايا المجتمعية. كما اتضح عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية بين متوسطي درجات الذكور والإناث دوافع قراءة جريدة المصير اليوم حيث كانت قيمة (ت) غير دالة عند مستوى 0.05.

And the satisfactions achieved from it, its reach to the public, its evaluation, the percentage of interest in it compared to paid newspapers, how the audience reads their topics and preferences for these topics, the sources that these newspapers rely on, the most prominent topics they covered, and the most important journalistic arts used in newspapers, the sample of the study. The study found that 80% of the sample members trust what Al-Masir Al-Youm newspaper always provides, 19% of them trust what it presents sometimes, and 1% of them rarely trust what it presents, and 87.7% of the sample individuals trust the newspaper The fate today is due to the newspaper’s reputation. 47% of them trust excellence in accuracy and availability of complementarity, and 38.3% of them trust it because of honesty. It was also evident that there were no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of males and females for the motivations of reading Al-Masir Today newspaper, as the value of (t) was not significant at the level of 0.05.
