المستخلص: يهدف البحث إلى إلقاء الضوء وإعادة اكتشاف أعمال الفنان "ترنر"، والنظر إليها وتحليلها بمنهج تاريخي حتى نستطيع الحكم على ما إذا كان له أسبقية عن غيره من الفنانين للوصول إلى الحداثة، حيث تفترض الباحثة أن الفنان "ترنر" قد توصل إلى ملامح التأثيرية، باعتبارها أهم حدث في الفن الأوربي منذ عصر النهضة (أي جوهر الحداثة). وتكمن مشكلة البحث في أنه لا يوجد بالمكتبات العربية دراسات باللغة العربية، تساعد على كشف وتحليل أعمال "ترنر" بما يعطيه الحق الكافي بالرغم من أنه يحظى باهتمام كبير في أوربا وإنجلترا تحديداً وذلك لأنها مسقط رأسه كما أنه أيضاً أقام بها وتبرع بكل أعماله الفنية للحكومة البريطانية ويقام له العديد من المعارض الفنية المتعددة والدائمة، مما يثر دوماً النقاش حول أعماله وإعادة اكتشافها. كما أن الحكومة البريطانية حولت معظم البيوت التي أشتراها وأقام بها "ترنر" إلى مزارات للجمهور. والباحثة من هذا المنطلق، تحاول أن تستفيد من إقامتها ببريطانيا، ومن زياراتها المتعددة للمعارض المستمرة لأعماله، كما كان لها الحظ أن تقيم بالقرب من أحد منازله (بمنطقة توينكهام) وقد رأت وشهدت كيف تم تطوير ذلك المنزل وإعادة فتحه للجمهور منذ حوالي "عام"، وكيف أن اسم "ترنر" يتداول في المحافل الرسمية ببريطانيا دوماً، سواء في الصحافة أو الإعلام، من خلال المقالات المنشورة والأبحاث، أو في الأفلام التسجيلية والسينمائية، ولذلك وجدت الباحثة أهمية في عمل بحث باللغة العربية، يستطيع أن يستفيد منه الباحثين وطلاب الفنون في المنطقة العربية ليكون إشارة لبدء عمل أبحاث أخرى متعمقة تصلح لكي تكون رسائل علمية في حد ذاتها. وأتبعت الباحثة في ذلك كل من المنهج التحليلي والمنهج التاريخي حتى يتثنى لها الحكم على ما توصل إليه "ترنر" من حداثة في أعماله سواء على مستوى الأسلوب الفني أو في اختياره لموضوعات فنية لم يتطرق إليها أحداً من قبله وتسميتها بأسماء لم تكن معهودة من قبل، ولكننا اعتدناها من بعده في موضوعات التأثيرية. لذلك اعتمدت الباحثة على بعض النماذج المختارة من أعماله الفنية وتحليلها تحليلاً فنياً وحرصت على تسلسلها التاريخي واتباع المنهج التاريخي لذلك التحليل لما تراه الباحثة في ذلك من إيجابية وحيادية حيث أن تتبع أعماله وإنجازاته تاريخياً يعد خير مرآة يمكن أن تعكس حقيقة أسبقيته عن غيره من الفنانين، كما تعكس أيضا مدى تأثره واستجاباته المتعددة للأحداث والتطورات الاجتماعية من حوله وتكشف مدى تفاعله بها كفنان مدرك ومتفاعل مع المجتمع المحيط به، لذلك وجده الباحثة أن كلا المنهجين التحليلي والتاريخي خير معين في ذلك.

The aim of the research is to shed light on the works of the artist J.M.W. Turner, and to analyze them from an historical perspective, so that we can judge whether he has precedence over other artists of that period. The predominant theme in European art since the Renaissance has been Modernism and Turner was one of the foremost artists to express this. The problem of research is that there are no libraries of Arabic studies in the Arab region, which reveal the work of Turner in depth, and which acknowledge his importance, in contrast to Europe, where he is an important figure. This is particularly true of England, of course, which was his birthplace, and he donated his entire artistic output to the British nation. Consequently there are many permanent exhibitions of Turner’s work, which ensure that his work is constantly discussed and re-evaluated. Several of Turner’s former homes are preserved and open to the public. The researcher is taking advantage of the opportunity provided by her stay in Britain and numerous visits to exhibitions of his work. She is fortunate enough to live near one of his houses in Twickenham, and she observed how it was recently restored and reopened to the public. Turner’s name is constantly circulated in public forums in Britain, whether in press or other media, in commercial or documentary film, or in published articles and research. As a result, the researcher has found the importance of how research in Arabic can benefit other researchers and students of the Arts in the Arab region, and further be a point of reference when commencing other in-depth or scientific research. The researcher has followed both an analytical and an historical approach in order to evaluate the evidence of Modernism in Turner’s work, both on the level of technical style or in his choice of technical subjects that had not been attempted by any of his predecessors. This also gave rise to new artistic terms, which were adopted as a result of Turner’s influence. Relying on selected examples of his artwork, the researcher analyzed them technically and in their historical sequence. She has been able to demonstrate that following impartially and positively the historical approach of this analysis of Turner’s work and achievements, is the best way to mirror the fact of his precedence over other artists. It also reflects in the most effective way the extent of his work’s impact and its multiple responses to events and social developments around him, as well as demonstrating how self-effacing he was in his interactions with the surrounding society. The researcher has shown that both analytical and historical approaches are of value.
