المستخلص: فكرة التلازم اللفظي في اللغة الإنكليزية تعني بشكل مبس: الكلمات التي تترافق أو تجتمع مع بعضها في مختلف السياقات اللغوية. إن هذه الكلمات المتلازمة ترتبط بشكل طبيعي وتلقائي في أذهان الناطقين الأصليين للغة الإنكليزية. ولكن بالنسبة لمتعلمي هذه اللغة من الأجانب تشكل هذه التلازمات اللفظية مشكلة كبرى والتي تتطلب قدراً كبيراً من الاهتمام والإدراك من قبل مؤلفي المناهج التعليمية والمدرسين وكذلك الدارسين. ولكي يكون الجميع من ذوي العلاقة على دراية ومعرفة كاملة بالموضوع، يجب تسليط الضوء على السمات المميزة لظاهرة التلازم اللفظي في اللغة الإنكليزية. وهذا ما يهدف إليه الباحث في هذه الورقة البحثية. آملاً أن يؤدي هذا الكشف إلى مساعدة المختصين في هذا المجال من مؤلفين ومدرسيين باختيار المادة المناسبة وعرضها وتدريسها بشكل يضمن الإفادة منها بطريقة ناجحة، وهذا يؤدي بالنهاية إلى فهم شامل للمسألة من النواحي كافة.

The notion of collocation in English very simply means; words that always go together forming habitual combinations in a variety of linguistic contexts. These multi-word chunks are spontaneously and naturally combined in the minds of native speakers of English. But for the foreign learners of this language, they pose a big problem, and this demands a great deal of attention and awareness on the part of all those concerned, namely textbooks writers, teachers and learners. It is very important, in the first place, for all concerned with this phenomenon, to shed light on its characteristic features that shape its existence in the language. To achieve this goal the writer has attempted, to direct the attention of course-books writers teachers and those interested in the field, to those features in a way that helps them in the selection, presentation and teaching of the language material, and how to make it suitable for teaching–learning situations. This helps all those concerned with this notion to have a full characterization of it from different perspectives.
