The second type is one of the most prevalent types of family violence in society, as it often accompanies or follows other types of family violence. Its effects often extend in its seriousness beyond the impact of physical violence and sexual violence. Psychological violence is the most difficult type of domestic violence to identify and track its medium and long-term effects and the consequent psychological harm to the individual, given its connection to the feelings and internal feelings of the human being, which is difficult for non-specialists to detect. Given the importance of the family in society, I thought I should study this topic by searching for the criminal protection that the Algerian legislator provided to family members from the moral violence inflicted on them within the family. لا يقتصر العنف داخل الأسرة في الاعتداءات الجسدية ذات الطابع المادي، بل قد يتخذ طابعا معنويا أو جنسياً ويعتبر النوع الثاني من أكثر أنواع العنف الأسري انتشاراً في المجتمع، إذ أنه غالباً ما يرافق أو يتبع الأنماط الأخرى من العنف الأسري، وكثيرا ما تمتد إثاره في خطورتها لتتجاوز إثار العنف الجسدي والعنف الجنسي، و يعد العنف النفسي أكثر أنواع العنف الأسري صعوبة في تحديده وتتبع آثاره المتوسطة والبعيدة المدى وما يترتب عليه من ضرر نفسي يطال الفرد، نظراً لارتباطه بالمشاعر والأحاسيس الداخلية للإنسان والتي يصعب على غير المختصين كشفها، ونظرا لأهمية الأسرة في المجتمع ارتأيت أن أتناول هذا الموضوع بالدراسة من خلال البحث عن الحماية الجنائية التي وفرها المشرع الجزائري لأفراد الأسرة من العنف المعنوي الواقع عليهم داخل الأسرة.
