المستخلص: تهدف الدراسة إلى تحديد العلاقة بين عدوى الانفعال والتعاطف لدى طلاب الجامعة، حيث يشير علماء النفس المعرفي أن العدوى الانفعالية لها أهمية في فهم المعرفة البشرية والانفعال والسلوك الإنساني، وهى اللبنة الأساسية للتفاعل البشري، والمساعدة في قراءة العقل، والسماح للناس بفهم ومشاركة مشاعر الآخرين. والعدوى الانفعالية من خلالها تنتقل الانفعالات مثل السعادة والغضب والحزن، مثل العدوى من شخص إلى آخر في وقت قصير، وكل شخص عبارة عن مستشعر انفعالي فردى ولا يمكن للعدوى الانفعالية أن تغير انفعالات الناس فحسب، بل تعمل أيضا كإشارة للتأثير على انفعالات الآخرين. والعدوى الانفعالية عبارة عن العملية المموهة التي يأتي من خلالها الفرد لخبرة مشاعر شخص آخر كمشاعره ولذلك نقول إنها مرتبطة ارتباطاً وثيقاً بالتعاطف. والتعاطف هو القدرة على مشاركة فهم وانفعالات الآخرين، بمعنى آخر هو القدرة على وضع الفرد نفسه مكان الآخر. وتحاول الدراسة أن تقدم إجابات على أسئلة الدراسة التالية: 1- هل توجد علاقة ارتباطية بين العدوى الانفعالية والتعاطف؟ 2- هل يوجد عامل عام مشترك بين مكونات العدوى الانفعالية ومكونات التعاطف؟ 3- هل توجد فروق بين الطلاب الذكور والإناث في مقياس العدوى الانفعالية ومقياس التعاطف؟ 4- هل توجد فروق بين طلاب القسم العلمي والأدبي في مقياس العدوى الانفعالية ومقياس التعاطف؟ وتم تطبيق مقياس العدوى الانفعالية ومقياس التعاطف على عينة قوامها (350) من طلاب الدراسات العليا بكلية التربية جامعة مدينة السادات. وقد أتضح من نتائج الدراسة أنه توجد علاقة ارتباطية موجبة بين مكونات العدوى الانفعالية والتعاطف. كما أتضح أن مكونات العدوى الانفعالية والتعاطف لهما عامل عام كامن يمكن أن نطلق عليه الكفاءة الانفعالية. كذلك أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن الطلبات حصلن على درجات أعلى من الطلاب في مقياس العدوى الانفعالية والتعاطف. كما أظهرت الدراسة أن طلاب القسم الأدبي حصلوا على درجات أعلى من طلاب القسم العلمي في مقياس العدوى الانفعالية والتعاطف.

The current research aimed to determine the relationship between emotional contagion and empathy among postgraduate students. Cognitive psychologists indicate that emotional contagion is important in understanding human knowledge, emotion, and behavior. As emotional contagion is considered the core of human interaction, that help people in reading the mind, and allowing them to understand and share others feelings. Emotions such as happiness, anger and sadness are transmitted from one person to another in a short time through emotional contagion, and each person is an individual emotional sensor. In addition, emotional contagion cannot only alter people's emotions, but also it acts as a cue to influence others emotions. It worth mentioning that emotional contagion is the subliminal process through which an individual comes to experience another person’s feelings as if it is his/her own feelings. Therefore, it was concluded that emotional contagion is closely related to empathy. In turn, empathy is the ability to share the understanding and emotions of others, in other words, it is the ability to place one’s self in the place of another. The present research was an attempt to provide answers to the following questions: 1. Is there a correlation between emotional contagion and empathy? 2. Is there a common factor between the components of emotional contagion and the components of empathy? 3. Are there any differences between male and female students in the emotional contagion scale and the empathy scale? 4. Are there any differences between students of the scientific and literary departments in the scale of emotional contagion and the scale of empathy? The emotional contagion scale and the empathy scale were applied to a sample of (350) postgraduate students at the Faculty of Education, University of Sadat City. The research results showed that there was a positive correlation between the components of emotional contagion and empathy. It has also been shown that the components of emotional contagion and empathy have a general latent factor that can be called emotional competence. Further, the results of the research also revealed that female students scored higher than male students on the scale of emotional contagion and sympathy and students of the literary department scored higher than students of the scientific department.
