المستخلص: يحتل المغرب العربي موقعا استراتيجيا من كل النواحي السياسية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية الأمر الذي جعل الولايات المتحدة لأمريكية تتبنى اهتماما به ضمن أجندة سياستها الخارجية القائمة على تواجدها أين تواجدت المصلحة الجيوسياسية والاستراتيجية والاقتصادية. ففي عهد التكتلات القطبية كان المغرب العربي غير مرغوب به من طرف الأمريكيين نظرا لاهتمامات فرنسا بالمنطقة لأسباب تاريخية.
وعقب انهيار المعسكر الشرقي وظهور الأحادية القطبية بدأت أولويات السياسة الأمريكية الميل نحو بلاد المغرب العربي المعروف في السياسة الخارجية الأمريكية بشمال أفريقيا. وورد في السياسة الأمريكية أن المغرب العربي يعد منطقة حيوية لاتصالها بالشرق الأوسط. وتزايد الاهتمام بالمنطقة المغاربية مع ظهور الإرهاب والتي عمل على زرع العنف والفوضى، هذا إلى جانب قضية الصحراء الغربية التي سعت الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية إلى احتوائها والتدخل في إيجاد حل لها. ولا تزال الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية تعمل جادة على احتواء المنطقة وإبعاد النفوذ الفرنسي لتحقيق مصالحها الاستراتيجية والسياسية والاقتصادية ومحاربة الإرهاب بكل أشكاله.


C'est parce qu'il occupe une place stratégique sur les plans politique, économique et sociale que les Etats Unies d'Amérique ont fini par accorder une importance au Maghreb arabe. Ce qui ne fut pas le cas lorsqu'il fut, pour des raisons historiques, la convoitise des français. Or, après la chute du bloc de l'Est, l'intérêt des Etats Unies d'Amérique s'est orienté vers les pays du Maghreb arabe, connus dans la politique étrangère américaine sous le nom d'Afrique du Nord. En effet, il est connu dans la politique américaine que le Maghreb arabe est considéré comme une région importante pour ses contacts avec le Moyen-Orient. Cet intérêt est devenu de plus en plus croissant en rapport avec deux questions, celle de la naissance du terrorisme mais aussi celle du Sahara occidental que les Etats-Unis ont cherché à contenir et à y intervenir pour la recherche d'une solution. Ceci montre combien les États-Unis oeuvrent encore à garder un œil sur la région afin d'infléchir l'influence des français et bien atteindre leurs intérêts stratégiques, politiques et économiques, notamment la lutte contre le terrorisme sous toutes ses formes.

The Maghreb occupies a strategic position in all political, economic, and social aspects, which led the United States of America to take an interest in it within its foreign policy agenda based on its presence where the geopolitical, strategic, and economic interest existed. In the era of the polar blocs, the Maghreb was undesirable by the Americans, given France's interests in the region for historical reasons.
After the collapse of the eastern camp and the emergence of unipolarity, the priorities of American policy began to tilt towards the Maghreb countries, which are known in American foreign policy as North Africa. It is stated in the American policy that the Maghreb is a vital region for its connection with the Middle East. The Interest in the Maghreb increased with the emergence of terrorism, which sowed violence and chaos, in addition to the issue of Western Sahara, which the United States of America sought to contain and intervene in finding a solution. The United States of America is still working hard to contain the region and remove French influence to achieve its strategic, political, and economic interests and to fight terrorism in all its forms.
