كان دائما هناك تهديدا يلوح في الأفق وهو تهديدا بمياه النيل فقد اعتاد الإثيوبيين استخدام لغة التهديد بإقامة السدود وتهديد مصر منذ أباطرة الحبشة أما في الفترة الحديثة فقد استطاعت قوى أخرى استخدام إثيوبيا لمواجهة مصر وتهديدها وهى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وإسرائيل، أما عندما نتحدث عن العلاقة القوية بين إسرائيل وإثيوبيا فلا نستطيع أن نقول إن إسرائيل متغلغلة داخل إثيوبيا فقط ونصمت فالاعتقاد الأخطر والذى يجعل أي شكل من أشكال التعاون مع مصر مرفوض من قبل إثيوبيا هو اعتقاد إثيوبيا الراسخ بوجود دماء صهيونيه تجعل هناك رابط قوى بين إثيوبيا وإسرائيل. ويجب أن نعلم بأن مدام الاعتقاد في رابطة دماء لا يمكن قطعة بأي شكل من الأشكال وقد ترجم الإثيوبيين اعتقادهم هذا على أرض الراقع عندما نصت دساتيرهم أن من يحكمهم يجب أن تجرى في دمائه دماء صهيونية وظلوا دائما يحكمون بمن تجرى في دمائه هذه الدماء حتى السبعينيات وحتى بعد سقوط الأسرة التي كانت تنتسب لعائلة سليمان في السبعينيات كان أغلبية من وصل للحكم له علاقة بهذه الأسرة بشكل أو بأخر فحتى إذا كان لمن يحكم أب مسلم فأمه غير ذلك فهي أمهرية وزوجته أمهرية تجرى في دمائها هذه الدماء وذلك لأن اليهود يعترفون بيهودية الشخص أذا كانت الأم يهودية وليس الأب ولذا فهو من وجهة نظر اليهود يهودي ويصبح أمام الجميع ومنهم العرب مسلم أو له أصول إسلامية ولكنة في واقع الأمر شيء آخر. فاليهودي موجود في كل مكان لخدمة دولة إسرائيل كما يقولون لذا فكل تصرفات إثيوبيا حتى الأن في هذا الإطار مفسره ولا تبعث على الاستغراب من قبل دولة تحمل هذا الاعتقاد.
