يناقش هذا البحث حركة المجتمع المدني لمدينة كربلاء في تأريخها، الحديث على الغالب، من خلال دراسة تحليلية لتشكيلاته المختلفة من منظمات ومؤسسات وجمعيات، وكيف كان لها الأثر المتنوع على الحياة الاجتماعية لمجتمع مدينة كربلاء، ودوره في أحداث التغييرات السياسية والاقتصادية في المدينة. ولتحقيق هذا الغرض البحثي فقد تطرق البحث إلى مفهوم المجتمع المدني وماهية أدواره الأساسية وتشكيلاته المتنوعة، ثم استعرض تأريخياً أهم تلك التشكيلات في مدينة كربلاء وأهم الأحداث التي مرت بها وظروف تأسيسها. وقد تناول البحث أهم المواقف التاريخية لتلك التشكيلات إزاء الأحداث السياسية والعسكرية التي مرت بها المدينة، ومن ثم دراسة أثرها على مختلف نواحي الحياة في المدينة. وقد خلص هذا البحث إلى استنتاجات تبين أهمية دور المجتمع المدني في البناء الاجتماعي لأي مجتمع، ومدى اندماج المجتمع الكربلائي في عمل تشكيلات المجتمع المدني المختلفة والذي كان له الأثر البالغ في النضج المدني الذي تعيشه المدينة وأهميتها الاجتماعية ضمن النسيج العراقي العام.
This paper discusses the history of the civil society movements in the city of Karbala as an analytical study of the different formations of the organizations, institutions and associations. It also reveals the effect of these movements on the social life as well as the political and economic changes occurred in this city. In order to achieve the aim of this study, the researcher has explained the concept of the civil society, its basic roles and its various formations. Then, a historic review is introduced about the most significant organizations, events and foundation circumstances. Throughout this study, the researcher sheds light on the political positions of these movements towards the political and military conditions at that time in order to analyze its consequences and impact on the different aspects of life in Karbala. It is concluded that the civil society had an important role in the social construction of any society. Secondly, the integrative work of Karbala society had a positive impact on the mature civil experiences achieved by the people of Karbala that had its important effect on the Iraqi society as a whole.
