هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى تحديد فئات للتربية الخاصة واستخلاص تصنيف وخصائص محددة للموهوبين وللمعوقين عقليا مثبتة في كتابي ابن الجوزي، أخبار الأذكياء وأخبار الحمقى والمغفلين، وبالتحديد الإجابة عن أسئلة الدراسة التالية: 1. ما فئات التربية الخاصة التي أشار إليها ابن الجوزي؟ 2. ما التصنيف الذي حدده ابن الجوزي للأذكياء (الموهوبين) والحمقى والمغفلين (المعوقين عقليا)؟ 3. ما الخصائص التي حددها ابن الجوزي للأذكياء (الموهوبين) والحمقى والمغفلين (المعوقين عقليا)؟ 4. ما مدى توافق أراء ابن الجوزي فيما يخص الأذكياء (الموهوبين) والحمقى والمغفلين (المعوقين عقليا) مع ميدان التربية الخاصة؟ 5. ما مدى ارتباط الكتابيين محل الدراسة بميدان التربية الخاصة؟ ولتحقيق هدف الدراسة تم استخدام أسلوب تحليل المحتوى للكتابين محل الدراسة، وقد أشارت نتائج الدراسة كإجابة من السؤال الأول إلى أن ابن الجوزي قد حدد ثلاث فئات من فئات التربية الخاصة هي: الحمقى، المجانين، الأذكياء، وهي مسميات قديمة تدل على المعوقين عقليا وعلى الموهوبين، وكذلك أشارت النتائج كإجابة عن السؤال الثاني والثالث إلى وجود تصنيف محدد وخصائص محددة ذكرها ابن الجوزي للمعوقين عقليا والموهوبين، وكذلك فقد توافقت العديد من أراء ابن الجوزي مع مفاهيم ومبادئ وتصنيفات التربية الخاصة في الإجابة عن السؤال الرابع، وقد أشارت نتائج الدراسة في الإجابة عن السؤال الخامس إلى ارتباط الكتابين بميدان التربية الخاصة وأنه يمكن اعتبارهما مختصان في هذا المجال.
This study aims at determining the categories of Special Education and to extract a specific classification and characteristics for talented and mentally retarded as mentioned, in the two books of Ibn Al-Jawzi namely: "Akhbar Al-Athkya'a" and "Akhbar Al-Hamqa wal-Mughafialeen", particularly by answering the following questions: 1. What are the categories of Special Education pointed out by Ibn Al- Jawzi? 2. What is the classification determined by Ibn Al-Jawzi for intelligent (gifted) persons and idiots and dumps (mentally retarded)? 3. What are the characteristics determined by Ibn Al-Jawzi for intelligent (gifted) persons on the one hand and idiots and dumps (mentally retarded) on the other hand? 4. To what extent are the opinions of Ibn Al-Jawzi in respect of intelligent (gifted) persons on the one hand and idiots and dumps (mentally retarded) consistent with the field of Special Education? 5. To what extent are the two books, the subject matter of the study, related to the field of Special Education? In fact, the method of analysis for the content of the two books, the subject matter of the study, was applied to achieve the purpose of the study. However, the findings of the study indicated ,according to the answer of the first question, that Ibn Al-Jawzi had determined three categories of Special Education categories: i.e. idiots, fools and intelligent persons, which are old titles referring to mentally retarded and gifted persons. Further, the findings have also indicated, according to the answers of the second and third questions, that there is a specific classification in addition to the existence of specified characteristics for both gifted and mentally retarded persons mentioned by Ibn Al-Jawzi. Furthermore; many opinions of Ibn Al-Jawzi match with the concepts, principals and classifications of Special Education, according to the answer of the forth question, while the findings of the study, and according to the answer made for the fifth question, denoted that the two books are related for which they may be considered specialized in the field of Special Education. In fact, this study recommends the enhance of the research and to go deeper in the same by looking through the scientific production of the early Muslim thinkers in the educational fields, particularity, the Special Education field.
