The present communication aims at shedding light on the socio-cultural and linguistic heritage of Touaregs along Algeria and Niger, in particular. This nomad population is rich not only with its songs, clothes, customs but also with its language and culture whose roots go deeper in the history of the Maghreb. It is high time for the researchers and decision makers in all countries where the Touareg communities exist such as in Algeria, Niger, Mali, Libya and Burkinafasso to rethink about a new policy for the re-integration of Touaregs as an essential component in either country’ socio-cultural and linguistic identity . The oral transmission of knowledge from Touaregs mothers to their children is not the right solution to preserve the Touaregs socio-cultural prosperity. On the contrary, this may endanger the continuity and the evolution of their sociolinguistic and cultural heritage. It is then the role not only of humanitarian organizations but also and especially the governments and statesmen to protect the Touaregs from eradication by providing them with all necessary financial, social and educational means. This will be probably a starting point for the construction of new sociolinguistic and cultural map of such countries notably Algeria and Niger where all the ethnic minorities are recognized, respected and preserved.
