المستخلص: يتناول البحث فهم أحد أئمة السنة والمدافعين عنها، وهو الإمام أحمد بن عبد الحليم بن تيمية المتوفي سنة ثمان وعشرين وسبعمائة لمعنى البدعة، ومقارنة فهمه بمن سبقه، ومن جاء بعده من العلماء؛ لنقد فهمه لهذه المسألة، وبيان صحة فهم من خالفهم من العلماء، وفهم الإمام لهذه المسألة لا ينقص من قدره، ولا يقلل من علمه، فهو فارس السنة بلا شك. تحدث البحث عن معنى البدعة في اللغة، والاصطلاح، وذكر البدعة في القرآن، والسنة، وفهم العلماء للبدعة قبل الإمام ابن تيمية، وفهمه للبدعة، وكذلك البدعة عند العلماء بعده، ثم عرض البحث لمعنى السنة، والبدعة المذمومة، ومن هو المبتدع؟ وحكمه في الدين. وتوصل البحث لنتائج مهمة منها: إجماع العلماء قبل الإمام ابن تيمية على تقسيم البدعة لمحمودة، ومذمومة، ومنها انفراد الإمام ابن تيمية بالحكم على كل مستحدث بالذم. ومنها تابع الإمام الشاطبي الإمام ابن تيمة في فهمه للبدعة ممن جاء بعده من العلماء. جاء البحث في مقدمة، وثلاثة مباحث، وخاتمة بها أهم النتائج والتوصيات، ثم قائمة بالمصادر والمراجع، والفهرس.

The research deals with the understanding of one of the imams (leaders) and defenders of the Sunnah (Prophet's practice) Imam Ahmad bin Abdul Halim bin Taymiyyah, who died in the year twenty-eight and seven hundred of the meaning of heresy and comparing his understanding with those who preceded him and who came after him among the scholars to criticize his understanding of this issue and to show the correct understanding of the scholars who disagreed with them. The imam’s understanding of this issue does not diminish his ability nor diminish his knowledge for he is undoubtedly the Knight of the Sunnah (the Prophet's practice). The research talked about the meaning of heresy in language and idiom, mentioning heresy in the Qur’an and Sunnah and scholars' understanding of heresy before Imam Ibn Taymiyyah and his understanding of heresy as well as heresy among scholars after him. Then the research presented the meaning of the Sunnah, the blameworthy heresy and who is the herald? And his provision in religion. The research reached important results including: the consensus of scholars before Imam Ibn Taymiyyah on dividing the heresy to be good or reprehensible. Also among them. Imam Ibn Tavmiwa's uniqueness in induing every innovator with blasphemy. Also which Imam al-Shatibi followed Imam Ibn Taymiyyah in his understanding of heresy from the scholars who came after him. The research came in an introduction, three sections, a conclusion with the most important findings and recommendations, then a list of sources and references, and an index.
