|a الدور الأساسي للمكتبات هو الكشف عن المعلومات ونشرها التي تعد بمثابة وسيط للمعلومات (Wojcik, 2016) ومع التقدم التقني تزايد اعتماد المكتبات على تكنولوجيا المعلومات والإنترنت، ولأن شبكة الإنترنت تغير طريقة وصول الأشخاص للمعلومات (Thanuskod: 2012) أصبح هناك ضرورة للمكتبات المواكبة للتطورات التكنولوجية الحديثة لتوسيع وتحسين نطاق وجودة الخدمات (Hajek, 2015)، فهي لا تستطيع فقط تسهيل الوصول إلى الموارد عبر الإنترنت للمستخدمين حول العالم ولكن أيضا بمشاركة الموارد مع المكتبات الأخرى (Chen, 2012).\nوحاليا تواجه المكتبات تحديات ضخمة في إدارة وتحليل عدد كبير من سجلات الكتب وفحص الكتب سريعا وتأخير الرد في الوصول إلى المجموعات (Ranipriy, 2017)، مما أجبر العديد من المكتبات على التطوير والتعايش مع التكنولوجيا الجديدة وتطويعها في مجال المكتبات ومنها تكنولوجيا (إنترنت الأشياء) والتي وصفت على نطاق واسع في أواخر التسعينيات ثم الانتقال إلى عصر الهواتف الذكية ثم نستقبل في السنوات القادمة موجة جديدة ومفهوما متطورا لشبكة الإنترنت بحيث تمتلك كل الأشياء في حياتنا قابلية الاتصال بالإنترنت لإرسال واستقبال البيانات وهو ما يسمى بعصر إنترنت الأشياء.\n

|f The primary role of libraries is to disclose and disseminate information, and the libraries are considered information mediums (Wojcik, 2016). With technical progress, libraries have increasingly relied on information technology and the Internet. Since the Internet is changing the way people access information (Thanuskod: 2012), libraries are needed to keep abreast of recent technological developments to expand and improve the range and quality of services (Hajek, 2015). They can not only facilitate access to online resources for users around the world but also by sharing the resources with other libraries (Chen, 2012).\nCurrently, libraries face huge challenges in managing and analyzing a large number of book records, checking books quickly, and delayed response in accessing collections (Ranipriy, 2017). This forced many libraries to develop and live with new technology and adapt it in the field of libraries, including the technology known as the Internet of Things, which was widely described in the late 1990s and then moving on to the age of smartphones, and then, in the coming years, we will receive a new wave and an evolving concept of the Internet as all things in our lives will have the ability to connect to the Internet to send and receive data, which is called the era of Internet of Things. \nThis abstract translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc. 2021
